C S A The Bishop’s Annual Catholic Service Appeal is set for the weekend of May 1 & 2, 2010. Countless lives will be touched by every contribution to the 2010 Catholic Service Appeal. Bishop Latino is asking each parishioner to prayerfully consider your gift to the CSA. As “One Family in Christ” we can accomplish so much for our diocese. You can go on line to learn more about the Catholic Service Appeal or make an online donation at: www.catholicserviceappeal.org.

CongratulationsWe congratulate and are very proud of Chase Holland who will receive the special award of Eagle Scout this Sunday afternoon. The ceremony will take place at the First Methodist Church, 161 Line St. at 2:00pm. We encourage our Church Family to participate if possible to show our love and support for Chase and his family.

St. Peter YouthWe had a very informative and enjoyable evening this past Wednesday for our young people. Mike Calendar gave a very enlightening and somewhat scary presentation about the evil of drugs and drink. Thanks also to the parents who came and who cooked a very enjoyable fiesta of hamburgers and hot dogs.

Graduation We will have a breakfast after Mass on Sunday May 16, 2010, to honor our high school graduates and they are; Joseph Messina, Ryan Taylor, Jeff Wagner, Kate Logan, Crispina Purvis, McKenzie Ray. If we have omitted anybody we are sorry and please give us a call.

QUOTES………………………………………………………………………………………..

1. Nothing is more endangered in the modern world that the powerful combination of hard work toward meaningful goals joined with an exuberant embrace of the present moment.  (Tom Morris)

2. When the archer misses the mark, he turns and looks for the fault within himself. Failure to hit the bull’s eye is never the fault of the target. To improve your aim – improve yourself.  (Gilbert Arland, Writer)

3. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. But make sure you don’t make the same mistake twice.  (Akio Morita)

Blood Drive The goodness and generosity of people who can and are willing to give

blood has helped to save many lives, your priest included. We will have a Blood Drive here

at St. Peter’s on Sunday, May 23rd immediately following the 9:00 Mass. We are hoping that

30 of our people, at least, will be willing to give blood so that our Church Family will qualify

for the gift of blood for one year.

Choose Life “Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but [rather] to use any violence to get what they want. That is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.” (Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Sick/Homebound/Hospitalized If you have anyone ill, homebound, or hospitalized please contact the rectory so they can be added to our prayer list and Father Ruane can visit with them and pray for them.
