Easter Greetings…I take this opportunity to wish all of our people a happy and Christ filled Easter, and Easter season.  May the risen Christ give us the joy and peace that we can receive only through Him.  Let us continue to remember those less well off than we are, the sick, the hurting, and the suffering.  God’s blessing to all! – MR.

 

Important CYO Gathering… We are planning a very special and important meeting for our young people on Wednesday April 21st at 5:30pm. We will have a guest speaker who will address the very important topic of the evils of drinking and drugs. We look forward to having Mike Calendar share his first hand experiences with our young people and parents. We will have a Fiesta – hamburgers and hot dogs. Come one, come all to St. Peter’s Parish Hall.

Congratulations   Church Family on this Holy Saturday through the Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. 

 

A Happy For The Children… We have planned an extra Happy for our children. We began a couple of years ago and it seemed to be tremendously popular. In place of an Easter Egg Hunt we will be inviting all of our children and their parents to gather in front of the Church on Easter morning after Mass. Among our surprises will be a show of love for our children and their Bible School Teachers.  

 

Priests Retreat… Father Ruane will be participating in the annual diocesan clergy retreat with Bishop Latino and a majority of the other priests from our diocese.  The retreat will be at St. Mary of the Pines in Chattewa, MS beginning on Monday and ending mid-morning on Friday. If you should need Father Ruane while he is on retreat just call the rectory and Karla will get in touch with him.

 

RIP… We ask that you remember in prayer the happy repose of the soul of Connie Fariss whom we laid to rest this past week. May God Bless especially her husband Walter and son J.W. Fariss. We thank everyone who came to Connie’s funeral and all who participated in provided food for family and friends.

 

Daily Mass… Because of the fact that I will be on retreat I will not be having daily mass this week at St. Peter’s. I will be having Mass at the Monastery in Chattewa. I do encourage everyone to participate in the communion services that will be taking place at the scheduled daily mass times, except on Tuesday, NO Service.

 

Sincere Gratitude… To all who helped make our Holy Week services meaningful and sacred as Lectors, Eucharist ministers, Mass Servers and those who helped decorate and fix up our Church for the sacred ceremony of Holy Week.

      

CHOOSE LIFE… Commenting on a Belgian man who awoke from a coma after 23 years of having been misdiagnosed as being in a persistent vegetative state, a member of Belgium’s Coma Study Group observed. “Despite the importance of diagnostic accuracy, the rate of misdiagnosed of vegetative state has not substantially changed in the past 15 years with up to 43% of patients with consciousness disorders misdiagnosed as being in a vegetative state.” (San Diego Union Tribune, 11/24/09)

PLEASE REMEMBER...to check thermostats, lights, doors, and clean up when leaving our buildings. We have received some high utility bills for the Family Life Center, please turn things off, check thermostats and lights, etc.
