Mini
We will have a Mini Bible School for our children grades 1st through 7th.
Monday & Tuesday
Bible
June 21st
& June 22nd, we will begin Mass on those two days at 10:00am. Father Ruane
will speak to
School
the children at length during Mass,
I am anxious that our children learn and know some of the very basic things about
our catholic faith. Father Ruane will mention some of these topics the Sunday before
our Mini Bible School class. After Mass the children will go to the classrooms and our
good teachers will continue to share with them on the same topics. Children attention
spans this time of year is rather limited, so we will have pizza at noon and parents
should be with us no later than 12:30 to take the children home.
Daily
Now that
school is out and there is a little more leisure time, there is no better up bringing for
Mass
our children
then to take them to Mass from time to time and explain its benefits.
Happy Anniversary
We wish Vince
and Ann Saia a belated happy 50th wedding anniversary. The 9:00am Mass this
Sunday morning is offered for Vince and Ann that God will bless them now and for many
years to come.
Sincere Thanks
John Artman
would like to thank everyone concerned for a very beautiful and dignified Church Funeral
Service at St. Peter, followed by the prayers at the cemetery with military honors.
Hot & Cold
Some people
like it hot in church or at home, some people like it cool or cold. So lets all try to be
reasonable and make it as comfortable as possible for everybody. We will set the
thermostat at 70 degrees.
Moving In And Out
Summer time
is often a time of transitions for families. We want to say farewell to any people who may
be leaving and thank you for your participation in our parish. We also wish to welcome any
new individuals or families at St. Peter Parish and we invite you to make yourself known
to us and to register with the parish. Parish registration forms are available in the
vestibule, or call the Parish Office at 662-226-2490.
IF
Please if
you cannot serve at a given Mass as Lector or Eucharist Minister, please call a replacement or call the
Rectory. These are
special ministries and a replacement should be found if you can not serve.
IF
anybody
wants a pretty kitten call Irene Stark at 417-0968.
C.S.A
Results from the offering
of our church last year, 2009 from 47 donors was $6,570.00. And this year, 2010, also from
47 donors, was $5,220.00. Thanks and God Bless.
Choose Life
On December 2, 2009, the Obama
Administration approved the first use of human embryonic stem cell for experiments by
federally funded researchers, using our tax dollars for an unethical destruction of human
life at its early stage. Richard Doerflinger of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
told the New York Times, (12/3/09) that, the tragedy of this is multiplied by
the fact that no one can think what the problem is that can only be solved by these cells,
in light of the amazing progress that has been made with adult stem cell research.
