Facilitators These are our facilitators: Mike Liberto 662-417-6220, Lee Munstenteiger 662-417-7948, John Portis 662-417-4781, Irene Stark 662-417-0968, Gerry Morris 662-417-1160, David Livingston 662-809-2432. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call your leader.

Make a DifferenceThere is a very worthwhile drive afoot to provide groceries, non-perishables, food items for the food Pantry So we are asking everybody to pitch in and help since a lot of people are having a difficult time because of the recession and scarcity of jobs. Groceries may be taken to R&S Cleaners on So. Commerce St.

It’s Not Too Late   We have received good and glowing reports of our “why Catholic?” gatherings and it is not too late to join a group. Call any of the facilitators listed in the bulletins for the time that suites you best.

Protection of Children  In accordance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People passed by the U.S. bishops in Dallas, the Diocese of Jackson wishes to encourage any victim of sexual abuse by a member of the Catholic clergy to come forward and found to be credible, counseling will be offered, so that the healing process can begin in accord with our present diocesan policy. We encourage any victim to contact Valeria McClellan, Victims Assistance Coordinator at 601-326-3728.

Choose Life Late last year the U.S. approved “ethically acceptable human cell lines,” so called because they were obtained from “extra fertility clinic embryos with parental consent.” Fr. Tad Pacholcyzk, a leading bio-ethicist, countered: “Classifying embryos as ‘surplus’ –is a flawed argument. There is no such thing as a surplus child who doesn’t matter. Every child matters, it is never ethical for parents to give consent to destroy their own children. Calling it ethical doesn’t make it so.”  (The Southern Cross, 1/10)

Quotes…

1. “Whether you be man or woman you will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor.”  (James Lane Allen [1849-1925] American Author)

2. “The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did when he was 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”  (Muhammad Ali)
