Give ThanksDear Parish Family Members, as you know the word Eucharist means to give thanks. I strongly encourage as many people as possible to come and give thanks to the Lord at our 9:00am Mass November 25th.

Thanksgiving is around the corner and it is a special time to give thanks to the Lord for our many blessings. We will have a special Mass at 9:00am on Thanksgiving Day. I know many of you have given non-perishable food items already to the Food Pantry, however, if you could bring a non-perishable food item to the Thanksgiving Day Mass it would be greatly appreciated. We have several people who come to our Rectory door and we hate to send them away empty handed.

Belated Congratulationsto Joe and Jennifer Liberto who’s infant child, Madeline Diane, was born in the Waters of Baptism during the evening Mass last Saturday, November 13, 2010. May God Bless this family.

Special Mass On December 1st we will have a Special Mass at 6:00pm on Wednesday evening. This Mass is for our young people who will receive The Sacrament of Confirmation this coming May. It is imperative that our young people be there for this Mass. We would like, our young people to do the reading and participate in the Prayer of the Faithful of this Mass. Mass will be followed by a discussion with our young people and a hamburger supper.

Adoration Of The Blessed Sacrament  I would like to start Adoration of the Blessed  Sacrament for  one hour on the first Monday of each month. I want to see how many people would be supportive of this very special devotion. We can always extend the Adoration Time if the support is good. It would be nice to have some more of our people remember our dear departed ones at one of our daily Masses.  Our plans are to begin, if we have enough interested, the first Monday of December, the 6th, immediately after Mass. Choose Life Connecticut lawmakers have three times rejected attempts to allow doctors to help patients end their life. Compassion and Choices, the major organization leading efforts to legalize physician-assisted suicide, then tried to win a victory through the courts but a judge blocked their efforts to legalize assisted suicide by rejecting their semantic ploy of re-labeling it “aid in dying.”    [NRL News, June 2010]
