Father Martin Ruane, Pastor
Youth We are asking all of our young people grades 7th through 12th, with the encouragement of
Night their parents, to make every effort to join us for a special presentation on the evils of drugs etc On Wednesday April 21st at 5:30pm. We will be so ever grateful to have Mike Calendar with us to give a presentation on this topic. We will hopefully serve hamburgers and hot dogs.
Easter Season The best way to say Alleluia during the Easter Season is to join us for daily Mass when possible.
1. A man can fail many times, but he isnt a failure until he begins to blame someone else. (John Burroughs)
2. If everything seems under control, youre just not going fast enough. (Mario Andretti, 1940- Italian-born American car racer)
3. If one has to jump a stream and knows how wide it is, he will not jump. If he does not know how wide it is, he will jump, and six times out of ten he will make it. (Persian Proverb)
4. Its important to acknowledge a mistake instantly, correct it, and learn from it. That literally turns a failure into a success. Success is on the far side of failure. (T. J. Watson, 1874-1956, founder of IBM)
5. My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog thinks I am. (unknown, sometimes attributed to Mark Twain)
6. One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dapple their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular. (Anthony Robbins, 1960, American author, speaker, peak performance expert, coach)
We will be having a Blood Drive at St. Peters on Sunday, May 23rd at 10:00am.
PLEASE REMEMBER TURN YOUR
CELLPHONE OFF WHILE IN CHURCH!
Thank you for you cooperation.
CHOOSE LIFE Adult stem cells are showing promise in growing bones to replace those damaged from birth defects, arthritis, or injury. Cheekbones and a jaw bone have been grown from stem cells in the patients own bone marrow and subsequently implanted. The availability of personalized bone grafts engineered from the patients own stem cells would revolutionize the way we currently treat these defects, commented a researcher at Columbia University which, along with Cincinnati Childrens Hospital, has achieved success in this area. (NRL News, 10/09)
LITURGICAL APPOINTMENTS Please contact the church office to participate in the Liturgy.
SICK/HOMEBOUND/HOSPITALIZED If you have anyone ill, homebound, or hospitalized please contact the rectory so they can be added to our prayer list and Father Ruane can visit with them and pray for them.
