Healing Mass
Mass this coming Friday May 7th
is the First Friday of the Month. We are encouraging as many people as possible to
participate in this Mass of Healing, where we pray to God for health of mind, soul and
body. This Mass will be at 10:00am Friday morning. Hopefully our Knights of Columbus will
furnish a little breakfast so we can have time for fellowship and conversation.
May Crowning
We will have May Crowning next Sunday May 9th in
conjunction with the Sunday Eucharist, since more people will have an opportunity this way
to honor our Blessed Mother. The Crown will be placed on the Blessed
Mother by Mary Hill, who will also be making her First Holy Communion.
Special Breakfast
We invite our
entire church family to join us after church May 9th for a breakfast in honor
of Mary Hill, who makes her 1st Communion on Mothers Day, and Chase
Holland who received the Eagle Scout Award last Sunday.
Graduation
We will have
a breakfast after Mass on Sunday May 16, 2010, to honor our high school graduates and they
are; Joseph Messina, Ryan Taylor, Jeff
Wagner, Kate Logan, Crispina Purvis, McKenzie Ray. If we have
omitted anybody we are sorry and please give us a call.
C S A
The
Bishops Annual Catholic Service Appeal is set for this weekend May 1 & 2, 2010.
Countless lives will be touched by every contribution to the 2010 Catholic Service Appeal.
Bishop Latino is asking each parishioner to prayerfully consider your gift to the CSA. As
One Family in Christ we can accomplish so much for our diocese. You can go on
line to learn more about the Catholic Service Appeal or make an online donation at: www.catholicserviceappeal.org.
If you dont have your offering with you this weekend just drop it off in the mail or
place your envelope in the offering basket next weekend.
Mothers Day
Sincere
congratulations to that lady we lovingly refer to as Mother. In giving respect to our mother who cooperated in
bringing us into this world, we are inspired by no less an example than Jesus Christ
Himself, who loved and respected His mother.
Quotes
..
1. Dont be afraid of the
space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so. (Belva Davis, Award-Winning
Journalist)
2.
People are like sticks of dynamite. The power is on the inside, but nothing happens
until the fuse gets lit. (Mac
Anderson, Author)
Blood Drive
The goodness
and generosity of people who can and are willing to give blood has helped to save many
lives, your priest included. We will have a Blood Drive here at St. Peters on
Sunday, May 23rd immediately following the 9:00 Mass. We are hoping that 30 of
our people, at least, will be willing to give blood so that our Church Family will qualify
for the gift of blood for one year.
Choose Life
Pam Tebow, mother of the celebrated
college football star, Tim Tebow, shared the story of her decision against abortion at the
Save A Life Ministries annual banquet. She told how she first reported the story of
an interview at the 2007 Heisman Trophy award for Tim. God was so gracious,
she said. I didnt have to give up my life, and he didnt take the life of
my son. (Life News, 3/3/10)
Sick/Homebound/Hospitalized
If you have anyone ill, homebound, or
hospitalized please contact the rectory so they can be added to our prayer list and Father
Ruane can visit with them and pray for them.
