May Crowning
We have our
special little service in honor of our Blessed Mother this morning. In addition to the
ceremony after Mass, we will pray the Rosary before Mass during the month of May,
(intention) respect for all forms of life, especially not born into our world the most
defenseless of all people.
Special Breakfast
We invite
our entire church family to join us after Mass this morning for a breakfast in honor of
Mary Hill, who makes her 1st Communion on Mothers Day, and Chase Holland
who received the Eagle Scout Award last Sunday.
Graduation
We will
have a breakfast after Mass next Sunday, May 16, 2010, to honor our high school graduates
and they are; Joseph Messina, Ryan Taylor, Jeff
Wagner, Kate Logan, Crispina Purvis, McKenzie Ray. If we
have omitted anybody we are sorry and please give us a call.
Blood Drive
The goodness
and generosity of people who can and are willing to give blood has helped to save many
lives, your priest included. We will have a Blood Drive here at St. Peters on
Sunday, May 23rd immediately following the 9:00 Mass. We are hoping that 30 of
our people, at least, will be willing to give blood so that our Church Family will qualify
for the gift of blood for one year. Please sign up on the list in the
vestibule, when you enter into the Church. We are hoping that many of our people will
respond favorably to this great opportunity of reaching out and helping others. [Last
Sundays Gospel], By this will all know that you are my followers if you love one another.
Mothers Day
Sincere congratulations to that lady
we lovingly refer to as Mother. In giving
respect to our mother who cooperated in bringing us into this world, we are inspired by no
less an example than Jesus Christ Himself, who loved and respected His mother. Happy Mothers Day to
all of our Mothers and Grandmothers.
Quotes
..
1. The only people who never fail are those who never
try. (llka
Chase, 1905-1978, American author, actor)
2. When you take a risk
and step out of the norm, you run the risk and sometimes you fail. But you only fail if
you give up.
(J.
Peterman)
3. To think bad thoughts is really the easiest thing
in the world. If you leave your mind to itself it will spiral down into ever increasing
unhappiness. To think good thoughts, however, requires effort. This is one of the things
that discipline training is about. (James
Clavell, in his novel Shogun)
Choose Life
The most important person on
earth is a mother. She cannot claim the honor of having built Notre Dame Cathedral. She
need not. She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral-a dwelling for an
immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her babys body. (Joseph Cardinal Mindszenty)
Sick/Homebound/Hospitalized
If you have
anyone ill, homebound, or hospitalized please contact the rectory so they can be added to
our prayer list and Father Ruane can visit with them and pray for them.
