Father’s Day

I would like to wish all fathers, grandfathers, etc… a very happy, peaceful and blessed Father’s Day. We hear much about neglectful fathers but we rarely hear anything about good fathers and there are so many of them too. We will honor our fathers on this Father’s Day with a special recognition and prayer. God Bless you all.

Mini    We will have a Mini Bible School for our children grades 1st through 7th. This Monday & Tuesday

Bible   June 21st & June 22nd, we will begin Mass on those two days at 10:00am. Father Ruane will speak to

School  the children at length during Mass, “I am anxious that our children learn and know some of the very basic things about our catholic faith.” Father Ruane will mention some of these topics the Sunday before our Mini Bible School class. After Mass the children will go to the classrooms and our good teachers will continue to share with them on the same topics. Children’s attention spans this time of year is rather limited, so we will have pizza at noon and parents should be with us no later than 12:30 to take the children home.

Altar LinensSome of our people are having to wash and iron our linens used at Mass a lot more frequently than they should have to. I know we are all very busy people and we may forget because of all the distractions, but won’t you please try to be careful and try to take care of this very special duty when your turn comes up.

Daily Mass Now that school is out and there         Hot & Cold Some people like it hot in church or at

is a little more leisure time, there is no better up             home, some people like it cool or cold. So lets all try to

bringing for our children then to take them to Mass        be reasonable and make it as comfortable as possible for

from time to time and explain its benefits.                       everybody. We will set the thermostat at 70 degrees.

Moving In And Out”… Summer time is often a time of transitions for families. We want to say farewell to any people who may be leaving and thank you for your participation in our parish. We also wish to welcome any new individuals or families at St. Peter Parish and we invite you to make yourself known to us and to register with the parish. Parish registration forms are available in the vestibule, or call the Parish Office at 662-226-2490.

IF Please if you cannot serve at a given Mass as Lector or Eucharist Minister, please call a replacement or call the Rectory. These are special ministries and a replacement should be found if you can not serve.

…………………………..…………Prayer For Vocations……………………………………

Heavenly Father, Bless your Church with an abundance of holy and zealous priests, deacons, brothers, and sisters. Give those you have called to the married state and those you have chosen to live as single persons in the world, the special graces that their lives require. Form us all in the likeness of Your Son so that in Him, with Him and through Him we may love You more deeply and serve You more Faithfully, always and everywhere. With Mary we ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen     Vocations Committee, Supreme Council, Knights of Columbus

Choose Life Using brain scans an international team of scientists has taken a look inside the brains of patients diagnosed as being in a “vegetative state.” These patients, the images clearly showed, were living silently-their minds apparently active, the scans showing brain activity like that in any healthy conscious person.  (New York Times, 2/4/10)  This counteracts the arguments that such patients are “in a vegetative state,” and can be starved to death as Terry Schiavo was in 2005.
