Unity Breakfast… The Chamber of Commerce sponsored Community Breakfast is scheduled for this Tuesday, October 16^th at 7:00am at Saint Peter Church. This breakfast is kindly being prepared by our Knights of Columbus and there are members from many local churches who participate in this function. It is basically an ecumenical venture and it would be nice if we would have several members from our church participate.      

 

Evening Mass … We will start back our evening Mass and RCIA on Tuesday November the 6^th Mass at 6:00pm followed by the RCIA.  

 

Office of Child Protection … In accordance with the charter for the Protection of Children and young people passed by the US Bishops in Dallas, the Diocese of Jackson wishes to encourage any victim of sexual abuse by a member of the Catholic Clergy to come forward and begin the healing process. When an allegation is found to be credible, counseling will be offered, so that the healing process can begin in accord with our present diocesan policy. We encourage any victim to contact Ms. Vateria McClellan, Victims Assistance Coordinator at 601-326-3728.   

 

“Seven Secrets of the Eucharist” … We have put the groups together and they are on the table as you enter the church. If they are not the time you prefer we probably won’t be able to get a suitable time, but we will do our best. This should be a very interesting and fruitful experience for those who signed up. 

 

Are You Someone, or Do You Know Someone Who… has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic? Has a child over the age of seven who has not been baptized? Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation? Please call, me, or the Rectory at 226-2490.

 

Family Life Center… As a result of our discussion at out pastoral council meeting this past Thursday evening, September the 20^th we decided the following:

1. No charge to members of our church family – ONLY!

2. For all others even friends of parish family members, there will be a reasonable charge of $200.00.

3. We decided to give a list of requirements to the person responsible for securing the building and these will be given to that person before hand.

4. The rental fee should be paid before the building is used.

5. We have a beautiful Family Life Center and we are trying to keep it that way.

 

Choose Life…  A Probing question for those on the sidelines of the pro-life struggle: Can the Christian, who declares that the human person is called to the very heights of heaven, stand idly by when those same human beings are thrown in the garbage by abortion, or disposed of by euthanasia?  (Father Frank Pavone)

Please Remember... to check thermostats, lights, doors, and clean up when leaving our buildings. We have received some high utility bills for the Family Life Center, please turn things off, check thermostats and lights, etc.

 

Sick or In The Hospital … Just a friendly reminder because of the Hospital confidentiality requirement, if anybody you know from our church family please let us know so we can be sure to visit them.
