“Seven Secrets of the Eucharist” … Our groups have been organized and two have already met. They will meet on Wednesday mornings at approximately 8:30am, on Tuesday evening at approximately 6:30pm and on Sunday morning at 10:15am. Our leaders are (Wednesday) Lee Munstenteiger, (Tuesday) JoAnn Gonzales, and (Sunday) John Mardis.

 

Happy Anniversary… We rejoice with Lee and Karen Munstenteiger on this very special occasion, fifty years of wedded bliss! We will have a special blessing for them and their marriage at the evening mass Saturday, October the 27^th followed by a reception at the Family Life Center. May God Bless you and give you many more happy years.        

 

Sincere Thanks… to the Knights of Columbus for cooking for the Unity Breakfast, and to our parishioners who participated and to all who helped make it a successful.        

 

Evening Mass … We will start back our evening Mass and RCIA on Tuesday November the 6^th Mass at 6:00pm followed by the RCIA.  

 

Are You, Someone or Do You Know Someone, Who… has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic? Has a child over the age of seven who has not been baptized? Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation? Please call, me, or the Rectory at 226-2490.

 

RIP… Please remember in prayer the happy repose of the soul of Father James O’Riorden who passed away this past month He retired from active ministry in January of 2009.  May he rest in peace.

 

Family Life Center… As a result of our discussion at out pastoral council meeting this past Thursday evening, September the 20^th we decided the following:

1. No charge to members of our church family – ONLY!

2. For all others even friends of parish family members, there will be a reasonable charge of $200.00.

3. We decided to give a list of requirements to the person responsible for securing the building and these will be given to that person before hand.

4. The rental fee should be paid before the building is used.

5. We have a beautiful Family Life Center and we are trying to keep it that way.

 

Choose Life…  Dr. Colleen Malloy, testifying before a House Subcommittee in support of a Pain Capanle Child Protection Act for the District of Columbia, asserted that medical and scientific findings show that the unborn child at 20 weeks and beyond is capable of feeling pain, and may even be more sensitive to pain at that point than newborns are. The bill passed the House with 220 voting in favor and 154 against. In spite of having a 66 vote majority under a special House rule it needed a two thirds margin in order to pass.

Please Remember... to check thermostats, lights, doors, and clean up when leaving our buildings. We have received some high utility bills for the Family Life Center, please turn things off, check thermostats and lights, etc.
