The
Healing Mass
Mass this coming Friday, at 10:00am, November 2nd is the
first Friday of the month. We are encouraging as many people as possible to participate in
this Mass of Healing, where we pray to God for health of mind, soul and body. Hopefully
our Knights of Columbus will furnish a little breakfast so we can have time for fellowship
and conversation.
November
1st All Saints Day
This is a Holy Day of
Obligation and we have two masses, one for the Vigil at 6:15pm
on Wednesday evening and Thursday, the Holy Day, at 8:00am. We hope that everybody will
make a genuine effort to come to mass for The Communion of Saints.
All
Souls
Traditionally
we remember the souls of our dear departed ones during the month of November. Masses will
be celebrated, unless otherwise requested, during the month for the souls of our dear
departed ones. Please place the names of those you wish remembered on the Altar beginning
on All Souls Day, November 2nd.
Knights of
Special Thanks to, who helped in any way
with the Installation ceremony. Jim Hertel and Glenn Smith
deserve most of the credit for cooking and with thanks to all who helped with the set-up
and clean-up.
Happy Anniversary
We rejoice with Lee and Karen Munstenteiger on this very special occasion, fifty years of wedded
bliss! We will have a special blessing for them and their marriage at the evening mass
this Saturday, October the 27th followed by a reception at the Family Life
Center. May God Bless you and give you many more happy years.
Evening
Mass
We will start back our evening Mass and
RCIA on Tuesday November the 6th Mass at 6:00pm followed by the RCIA.
Church
- Beacon of Faith
A faith
formation for the Year of Faith will be given at St. Jude Church in Pearl, Ms. on November
17th at 1:30 through 5:00pm. The keynote speaker will be Dr. John Switzer,
Professor of Theology, from Spring Hill College, Mobile Al. If planning to attend please
call 601-960-8470 by November 9th or fabvienen.taylor@jacksondiocese.org.
Family
Life Center
As a result
of our discussion at out pastoral council meeting this past Thursday evening, September
the 20th we decided the following:
1. No
charge to members of our church family ONLY!
2. For all
others even friends of parish family members, there will be a reasonable charge of
$200.00.
3. We
decided to give a list of requirements to the person responsible for securing the building
and these will be given to that person before hand.
4. The
rental fee should be paid before the building is used.
5. We have
a beautiful Family Life Center and we are trying to keep it that way.
Choose
Life
Young people, in particular, are now casting a critical eye
on the culture of abortion, maybe asking themselves if they were once considered a choice
rather than a person. (Bishop William E. Lori
of Bridgeport, CT, 1/21/2012)
