All SoulsTraditionally we remember the souls of our dear departed ones during the month of November. Masses will be celebrated, unless otherwise requested, during the month for the souls of our dear departed ones. Please place the names of those you wish remembered on the Altar beginning on All Souls Day, November 2nd.

Knights of Columbus A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for the deceased Knights of Columbus on November the 15th at 6:00pm. This mass is to be followed by a baked chicken supper. And a Special Thanks to, who helped in any way with the Installation ceremony. Jim Hertel and Glenn Smith deserve most of the credit for cooking and with thanks to all who helped with the set-up and clean-up.

Living the Faith The following are suggestions that we are all encouraged to implement in a special way during this “Year of Faith.” Our number one is:  1. Participate in Mass               5. Help those in need

                                                                             2. Go to Confession                  6. Invite a friend to mass

                                                                             3. Read the bible daily              7. Make a visit to the Blessed Sacrament

                                                                             4. Volunteer in the parish

If we do these well it will indeed be a “Year of Faith.”

Church - Beacon of FaithA faith formation for the Year of Faith will be given at St. Jude Church in Pearl, Ms. on November 17th at 1:30 through 5:00pm. The keynote speaker will be Dr. John Switzer, Professor of Theology, from Spring Hill College, Mobile Al. Family Life Center As a result of our discussion at out pastoral council meeting this past Thursday evening, September the 20th we decided the following:

1. No charge to members of our church family – ONLY!

2. For all others even friends of parish family members, there will be a reasonable charge of $200.00.

3. We decided to give a list of requirements to the person responsible for securing the building and these will be given to that person before hand.

4. The rental fee should be paid before the building is used.

5. We have a beautiful Family Life Center and we are trying to keep it that way.

Choose Life  As political candidates contest for our support, it is vital to remember that “no amount of good social policy, such as programs that feed the hungry and shelter the homeless- as vitally important as they are- can make up for bad policies concerning the protection of life itself. Without the fundamental right to live, the right not to be killed, no other rights are meaningful. In fact, without life no other rights can exist” (Respect Life pamphlet, USCCB, 2006)
