Penance Service… Our Lenten Penance Service is set for Tuesday March 20^th at 6:00pm. Again, please try to keep this date open for this very important gathering.

 

St. James Epistle…

Confess therefore your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be saved.  James 5:16               

 

Sincere Gratitude… to Father’s, Mike O’Brien, Gerard Hurley, Pat Noonan and Sam Messina who will join Fr. Ruane for a very, very important Reconciliation Service [Confession] on Tuesday, March 20^th at 6:00pm. 

 

Way of The Cross…  We will have ‘The Way of the Cross,’ Scripture reading, and a short meditation followed by Holy Communion and a light supper, on the Friday’s through Lent. Services will begin at 6:15pm SHARP.

 

Lent At St. Peter Church… Let us all make a special effort to make Lent a special time in Our Church.

Here are some suggestions:                             4. A good confession by participating              6. A kinder, gentler people

1. Daily Mass when possible.                              in our Penance Service.                                7. Less negative gossip. 

2. Participating in “Why Catholic?”                5. Prayer when possible in the home                8. More kindness , compassion, 

3. Participating in the Mass of Healing.               with the family.                                               and affirmation.

 

R.C.I.A…The RCIA will meet this Tuesday evening at 6:30pm SHARP. Topic will be “Prayer.”

 

NOTE … If you would be willing to bake a cake or help prepare and serve the light lunch for the Lenten Service at the First Presbyterian Church on March 6^th please call Gerry Morris at 417-1160.

 

Mississippi Catholic … As I told you previously our parish is billed $20.00 for each family unit and we are way short of having collected that at this point. It would help our parish greatly if you could possibly pay for the papers, and as stated the cost is $20.00.  

 

Speaking Engagement … Fr. Ruane has been invited to be the guest speaker at The First Methodist Church March 28^th at 11:30am and the First Presbyterian Church on Monday April 2^nd at noon. Our people are encouraged to participate, if not too busy, as a form of support.

 

CCD Classes… NO CCD CLASSES MARCH 11^TH & MARCH 18^TH.  We will resume our classes on March 25^th.

Please Remember... to check thermostats, lights, doors, and clean up when leaving our buildings. We have received some high utility bills for the Family Life Center, please turn things off, check thermostats and lights, etc.
