Give Thanks Dear Parish Family Members, as you know the word Eucharist means to give thanks. I strongly encourage as many people as possible to come and give thanks to the Lord at our 9:00am Mass November 24th.

Thanksgiving is around the corner and it is a special time to give thanks to the Lord for our many blessings. We will have a special Mass at 9:00am on Thanksgiving Day. I am encouraging you if at all possible, because there are more people hurting now than ever before to bring some non-perishable food items to the Thanksgiving Day Mass. Many of these will be passed on to the Food Pantry in town and some will be kept at the parish, because we have several requests for food ourselves.

Dates         November 24, 2011: Thanksgiving Mass at 9:00am – groceries for the Pantry, some to be

To                                                used at St. Peter and some to be used for the Community Food Pantry.

December 11, 2011: Parish Christmas Supper, Catholic Santa and goodies for the children.

Remember  December 13, 2011: Parish Penance Service.

R. C. I. A. Continues on Tuesday evening after the 6:00pm Mass in the AA room behind the Rectory. We have a good group anybody else who may be interested can still come. TOPIC: The Identifying Marks of the Catholic Church.

Carmelite Monastery Consider supporting the Carmelite Nuns in Jackson, they have a wide range of Christmas gifts, which would make a suitable gift for children or adults and they would greatly appreciate our help.

Choose Life The provision of nutrition and hydration, even by artificial means, should be considered part of ordinary care and therefore obligatory. Withholding fluid and nutrition does not allow any disease to “take its course.” Rather it leads to another cause of death: starvation or dehydration. Starvation and dehydration do not prevent suffering; they cause it.  (Dr. George Delgado, Culture of Life Family Services)

*Sacrament of Reconciliation, Saturdays 5:15pm – 5:45pm**and by appointment*
