Healing MassMass this coming Friday February 4th is the First Friday of the Month. We are encouraging as many people as possible to participate in this Mass of Healing, where we pray to God for health of mind, soul and body. This Mass will be at 10:00am Friday morning. Hopefully our Knights of Columbus will furnish a little breakfast so we can have time for fellowship and conversation.

Why Catholic? Our next session of “Why Catholic?” is to begin in conjunction with the Holy Season of Lent. The purpose is to have it completed before Holy Week. In addition to those who have participated already, we encourage others to consider participating in the next session entitled: LIVING GOSPEL VALUES IN THE 21ST CENTURY.

R.C.I.A The RCIA will meet this Tuesday February 1, 2011. We encourage those who have been participating, and anybody else who might be interested, to please join us each Tuesday evening after the 6:00pm Mass.  Topics: Review of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, leading into the Holy Eucharist.

Cursillo A women’s Cursillo will be held March 10-13, 2011 and a men’s Cursillo March 17-20, 2011 at the Duncan Gray Center north of Canton. These will be the 127th and 128th Cursillos held in the Diocese of Jackson. Anybody interested please contact Father Ruane at 662-226-2490.

Choose Life The Vatican condemned the recent decision by U.S. regulators to begin using embryonic stem cells in clinical tests on human patients. The destruction of human embryos involved in such research amounts to “the sacrifice of human beings and is to be condemned.”   (The Southern Cross, 8/10)
