Changes In The Mass… There will be slight changes in the new translation of  ‘I Confess, Glory to God in the Highest, The Creeds, The Acclamations, and The Eucharistic Prayers; LORD I AM NOT WORTHY, and a number of other prayers and responses.’ However one of the most obvious changes will be where the congregation responded ‘and also with you’ but we will now say ‘and with your spirit’ which is the literal translation from the Latin. The clergy will face a much bigger adjustment than the congregation. 

 

R. C. I. A.… Our R.C.I.A. group will begin after the 6:00pm Mass October the 11th and we will also be beginning our evening Mass at 6:00pm on that same day.

 

Are You Someone Or Do You Know Someone Who…has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic? Has a child over the age of seven who has not been baptized? Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation? Please call me, or the Rectory at 226-2490.  

 

Renew… Again we are happy to announce that the Renew books are here and we hope all of our groups are ready to start. Having checked with priests in other parishes they are asking for $10.00 for the book if possible to help defray the overall cost.    
 

Renew Facilitators… Our ‘Renew facilitators’ for the session completed have been:

Irene Stark – Tuesday Evening at 6:30pm, her number is 417-0968.

Lee Munstenteiger – Wednesday Morning at 8:30am, right after the 8:00am Mass his number is 417-7948.

Mike Liberto – Wednesday evening at 6:00pm his number is 226-7936. 

Gerry Morris – Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm her number is 417-1160.

John Portis – Sunday Morning, right after Sunday Morning Mass his number is 227-2708.

David Livingston – Sunday Afternoon at 5:00pm? His number is 226-7753.

Hopefully everybody will be able to serve again, if not please let Father Ruane know.

 

Choose Life… Rep. Chris Smith, in a speech opposing the proposed Senate health care bill (subsequently passed) stated: “Abortion is a serious, lethal violation of human rights—and now we are [on the verge of] being compelled to subsidize it. Slaughtering innocent children must never be construed as health care. True health care reform respects, protects, and enhances human life.” (NRL News, 1/10, p.7)

Please Remember... to check thermostats, lights, doors, and clean up when leaving our buildings. We have received some high utility bills for the Family Life Center, please turn things off, check thermostats and lights, etc.
