celebrated at St. John in Charleston a Vigil Mass at 4:00pm Wednesday December

Sincere Gratitude
Sincere gratitude to all of those who
brought groceries to our Thanksgiving Day service. Many of these will be given to the Food
Pantry and some we will keep at the church. May
God reward your goodness.
Christmas Family Supper
We hope that all of our church family will try to be
with us on December 11th for our Annual
Parish Family Christmas Supper. Weve had a wonderful time these past few
years and we hope it will be even better this coming year. Our supper will consist of a
covered dish the meat for the supper will be furnished by our parish. We are expecting the
Catholic Santa to show up and we will sing our Christmas Carols together in Honor of our
Savior and to get into the Christmas spirit for our adults and children.
Penance
Service
This is a wonderful opportunity for us
to change gears and think of something special that we can give the Lord for His birthday.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a wonderful gift from God and our using of it to
receive His grace and forgiveness is our special gift to him. Our church Penance Service
will be on Dec. 13, at 6:00pm. We are most grateful to Fr. Messina, Fr. Noonan, Fr.
Hurley, Fr. OBrian and yours truly Fr. Ruane.
Angel Tree
We have names of children and seniors who are in need of a Special
Christmas Gift on our Angel Tree. Please feel free to take an angel from the
Angel Tree and purchase that childs wish or need. Wrap it and place the Angel on the
gift and return it under the tree no later than December 18th. Thank you, for your heartfelt generosity.
Welcome
New Members
We would like to extend a very sincere
welcome to our newest Parish Family Members. If you have come to St. Peters in the
last year or two please give your name to Karla or Fr. Ruane or just call us at the
Rectory 662-226-2490. We would like to give you a special welcome at our Christmas Supper.
The New Roman Missal
has been introduced to all of the
parishes in the diocese. The peoples responses for Mass with the new translations
can be found in the pew cards. Please return the pew cards to the box provided for this
purpose.

The RCIA will resume this Tuesday
evening, December 6th, after the 6:00pm Mass. Topic:
Baptism
Carmelite Monastery
Consider supporting the Carmelite Nuns in Jackson, they have a
wide range of Christmas gifts, which would make a suitable gift for children or adults and
they would greatly appreciate our help.
Choose
Life
Speaking of her Downs syndrome baby as a gift from
God, Congresswoman Cathy M. Rodgers stated, There are tremendous resources,
support and early intervention available to families. There are medical advances and
breakthroughs in the realm of education and early learning. I am extremely grateful to
those who have walked this path before me. (NRL News, May, 2008)
