Healing Mass… Mass this coming Friday March
4th is the First Friday of the Month. We are encouraging as many people as
possible to participate in this Mass of Healing, where we pray to God for health of mind,
soul and body. This Mass will be at 10:00am Friday morning. Hopefully our Knights of
Columbus will furnish a little breakfast so we can have time for fellowship and
conversation.
R.C.I.A… The RCIA is taking
a break this week and will not be able to resume, because of the Red Beans and Rice
Supper, until Tuesday March 15, 2011.
“Why Catholic?”… All of our groups should
begin this week remember what we agreed on, that we would be able to complete the program
with out rushing before Holy Week.

Red Beans and Rice… Our Church Family is
invited to participate in a red beans and rice supper on
Tuesday evening, March 8th,
after the 6:00pm Mass and before Ash Wednesday. This is traditionally
known as Fat Tuesday, to eat all you want and all you can before the Holy Season of Lent
begins. The Knights will prepare the red beans and rice, the church family, are to bring
anything they wish except soft drinks. If you want to fix a
Pancake, I’ll bet
Fr. Ruane gets to it first.
Lent… The Lenten announcement will be
in next weeks bulletin.
Religious Education… We ask parents to make
attendance to religious education class a priority in their child’s weekly schedule.
Children are required to attend classes in preparation for the Sacraments and their
regular religious formation. Class times are K thru 12th grade, on Sunday at
10:15am until 11:15am.
Choose Life… In an article headlined
“100 million ‘missing’ girls”, Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby
describes the practice of aborting unborn girls in societies as varied as South Korea,
India, Japan, China, Singapore, and some of the former Soviet republics. He notes,
“It is not material poverty that leads these cultures to blithely accept the killing
of their very youngest girls. It is a poverty of values, an ancient prejudice that views
daughters as a financial burden, rather than a blessing to be cherished.” (Boston Globe, 3/14/10)

lights, doors, and clean up when leaving our buildings. We have received some high
utility bills for the Family Life Center, please turn things off, check thermostats and
lights, etc.
