Congratulations
We congratulate and pray
Gods Special Blessings on Shirley Cupstid, Luther Owens,
Blair Owens, Judy Bloodworth, and Breanna
Mardis. Who are and have been studying our faith and hope to
become part of our Church Family at Easter. Around St. Peter we emphasize the word
Family a lot and as future members of this Church Family, please pray for
these special people.
Special Mass
We will have a Special
Mass for our Young People grade 7 thru 12, at 6:00pm on Wednesday March 16, 2011. Again we
ask our Young People to serve as Servers, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, etc
There
will be no morning Mass on that day.
Eucharistic Ministers
We have added several new
Eucharistic Ministers recently and they will be serving as they are assigned. This is the
most special ministry of our Catholic Faith. We are asking everybody to be faithful when
they are assigned and when unable to serve to find a replacement.
Eucharistic Ministers
I made a special appeal to
our Confirmation Class last Sunday to consider
volunteering for the special ministry of Eucharist Minister. As of yet I havent
heard from them personally. It is very important that our young people be involved in this
special ministry.
Why Catholic?
Our next session of Why
Catholic? is to begin in conjunction with the Holy Season of Lent. The purpose is to
have it completed before Holy Week. In addition to those who have participated already, we
encourage others to consider participating in the next session entitled: LIVING GOSPEL
VALUES IN THE 21ST CENTURY.
R.C.I.A
The RCIA will meet this Tuesday
February 8, 2011. We encourage those who have been participating, and anybody else who
might be interested, to please join us each Tuesday evening after the 6:00pm Mass. Topic: The Holy Eucharist.
Cursillo
A womens Cursillo will be held March 10-13, 2011 and a mens Cursillo March 17-20, 2011 at the Duncan Gray Center north of
Canton. These will be the 127th and 128th Cursillos
held in the Diocese of Jackson. Anybody interested please contact Father Ruane at 662-226-2490.
Choose Life
Pope John Paul IIs words speak a message of hope to the elderly. You
are not on the margins of the life of the Church, passive elements in a world of excessive
motion, but active subjects of a period of human existence which is rich in spirituality
and humanity. You still have a mission to fulfill and a contribution to make.
