meeting dates for this group are March the 7, 23, 30, and April 6, and 13.
Red Beans and Rice
Our Church Family is invited
to participate in a red beans and rice supper on
Tuesday evening, March 8th,
after the 6:00pm Mass and before Ash Wednesday. This is traditionally known as Fat
Tuesday, to eat all you want and all you can before the Holy Season of Lent begins. The
Knights will prepare the red beans and rice and jambalaya, the church family, are to bring
anything they wish except soft drinks. If you want to fix a Pancake, Ill bet Fr. Ruane gets to it first.
RIP
Please pray a prayer for the happy
repose of the soul of Fr. Bill Vollor of the Biloxi Diocese, a
native of Vicksburg and a brother of Fr. John Vollor who died
recently.
Why Catholic?
We hope that all or our groups
have begun or are about to begin this very important session on the Sacraments of our
Church. With a little effort on our part this can be a very enriching experience.

the Exchange Club March 17th, and to the young people at the 1st
Methodist Church March 29th at 7:00am, the adult group Wednesday March 30th

Choose
Life
One long ago day at a Washington, D.C.
Prayer Breakfast, a tiny nun proclaimed these words to those in high positions of power:
if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people
not to kill one another? On that day, Mother Teresa of Calcutta captured the essence
of love---respect for all human life.
Quotes
1. Mary is the first Christian to
follow Christ, and she is the first and most perfect model of Christ. Indeed, that is why
the imitation of Mary is not only relevant to women but to all Christians. But she has a
special significance for women, one in accord with their nature, for she leads them to the
feminine form of the Christian image. (St. Teresa Benedicta
of the Cross (Edith Stein)
