Pave the Way Next week will be the annual Catholic Service Appeal Weekend. Bishop Joseph Latino is asking every Catholic family to participate. As a Catholic community, we are called to respond to God’s grace in our lives.   The Catholic Service Appeal is an opportunity to respond to His grace by sharing our treasure to help our neighbors throughout or diocese. Please plan to participate in the Catholic Service Appeal next weekend, April 30 – May 1. Please go online to www.jacksondiocese.org to learn more about the Catholic Service Appeal or to make an on line donation.

Good Friday We are reminded that this Friday, Good Friday, is a day of Fast and Abstinence, one full meal, two snacks and no meat.

A Happy for the Children We have planned an extra Happy for our children. We began this a couple of years ago and it seemed to be tremendously popular. In place of an Easter Egg Hunt we will be inviting all of our children and their parents to gather in front of the Church on Easter morning after Mass. Among our surprises will be a show of love for our children and their Bible School Teachers.

Holy Land Collection A special collection will be taken up on Good Friday for the support of the Church’s work in the Holy Land. During this time of turmoil the plight and suffering of Palestinian Christians has become desperate. Our support of the work of the Church in the Holy Lands is even more important than ever.

Please Note Traditionally in the past we’ve had Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until midnight, because of a lack of participation of people coming to participate in Adoration, (especially from eleven to midnight). We are hoping that our people will participate until 11:00 o’clock. As you know the Blessed Sacrament should never be placed for Adoration without somebody being present.

Annual Retreat Fr. Ruane will be joining several of the priests and bishop Latino for our Annual Priests Retreat beginning Monday April 25th thru Friday April 29th. The Retreat will be at St. Mary of the Pines in Chatawa. If there is any emergency during this time please call Karla at the Rectory, Monday, Wednesday or Friday till 12:00 noon or call her cell 417-2333.

Congratulations We congratulate Louie Marascalco and Chancis DuBard who will be united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on April 29 here at St. Peter. They will be married at 10:00am, with further celebrations on April 30th at 5:30pm.

Very Important  Vigil Mass on the 30th will be at 6:30pm please be patient and make note of this change, Fr. Ruane is involved in a wedding.

Congratulations We congratulate and are very happy to receive Luther Owens, Blair Owens, Judy Bloodworth, Stanley Bloodworth, and Shirley Cupsid into full communion with the Catholic faith on Holy Saturday night.

Fr. Ruane Sincere gratitude to all who offered prayers and made inquires about me while I was in the hospital and recuperating.

Confirmation We had a lovely afternoon for our young people, a good program, good participation and a good group of young people. The supper was also nicely prepared and the participation of sponsors and parents was real good. Thank you and God Bless You.

Choose Life “Every child with Down syndrome, every adult with special needs, in fact every unwanted, unborn child, every person who is poor, weak, abandoned or homeless---each one of these persons is an icon of God’s face and a vessel of His love.” (Archbishop Charles J. Chaput of Denver, Oct 16 speech to Phoenix Catholic Physicians’ Guild)
