Special CollectionThe devastation caused by the recent tornados has been catastrophic particularly in Mississippi and Alabama. The death toll, human suffering and property destruction is staggering, a part of this offering will be used to assist flood victims in our diocese, special offering to be taken up this Saturday and Sunday May 21st and May 22nd thank you for your generosity.

A Big Thank You A special word of thanks to our people who helped to make the Unity Prayer Breakfast a grand success. Thanks to our Knights, for fixing a nice breakfast and to our church people who participated. Several people remarked that it was one of the more successful Prayer Breakfast for some time.

May Crowning We will have our special little service in honor our Blessed Mother this morning. As you know May is traditionally the month set aside in honor our Blessed Mother. In the good old days, many families prayed the Rosary in their home in honor of the Great Rosary Priest, Fr. Peyton, whose slogan was “The Family that prays together stays together.” We pray the Rosary before daily Mass each day and encourage our people to try to make it a family prayer.

Congratulation We congratulate Charles and Nancy Oswalt on the happy occasion of the baptism of their child at the evening Mass on May 21st.

RIPWe ask you to remember John Bell, who died as a result of a car accident this past week. He was Gerry Morris’s nephew and Lynn Bennett’s first cousin, and to especially remember his family and friends, may he rest in peace.

Choose Life  “Society is always attempting to make the physician into a killer-to kill the defective child at birth, to leave the sleeping pills beside the bed of a cancer patient. It is the duty of society to protect the physician from such requests.” (Margaret Meade, NRL News, 9/09)
