Remember In PrayerPlease remember in prayer the happy repose of the soul of Trena Fitzgerald, who was killed in an automobile accident this past week. Trena is a sister of Randy Wimberley. May God Bless this family in this time of tragedy.

Vacation I will be leaving next Sunday afternoon, July the 31st for a few weeks in Ireland with family and friends. You will be remembered in my daily Masses and prayers, you might remember me in your prayers. MR

WelcomeWe welcome Father Al Camp who has again agreed to take care of us in Father Ruane’s absence. I know you will make him welcomed and listen to his words of wisdom.

Hospital Visitation Please call us at the rectory if you or a member of your family is in the hospital in Grenada or elsewhere. Hospitals have a privacy policy that doesn’t make known the people in the hospital. I would like to visit people while in the hospital if at all possible to pray with them and to give them a little encouragement.

Moving In And Out”… Summer time is often a time of transitions for families. We want to say farewell to any people who may be leaving and thank you for your participation in our parish. We also wish to welcome any new individuals or families at St. Peter Parish and we invite you to make yourself known to us and to register with the parish. Parish registration forms are available in the vestibule, or call the Parish Office at 662-226-2490.

Choose Life  “In 1857, the U.S. Supreme Court looked at the slave, Dred Scott, and came up with the wrong decision, declaring the slave as “property” and not a “citizen”… The slave’s life was still protected. In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court got it wrong again and handed down decisions on abortion, which declared “open season” on unborn children throughout the full nine months of pregnancy…. Most people have not noticed that the population descended from U.S. African slaves, comprising around 12% of the population, make up about 35% of the abortion population. [Since1973, more than 14 million unborn black children have died from abortion.] (Dr. Mildred Jefferson, M.D.)

Quotes……………………………………………………………

2. “Ambition is a lust that is never quenched, but grows more inflamed and madder by enjoyment.”  (Thomas Otway, British dramatist)
