Welcome Home… we
all extend a warm welcome home to Father Ruane, back
from his, well deserved vacation. We really missed you while you were gone. We all hope you had a Wonderful time
in
Labor Day… It sounds like a
contradiction, but on Labor Day everybody usually rest from his or her labors.
We encourage parishioners to participate in Mass, and to make it a little
easier for those who would like to rest a little bit, even those who have no
jet lag Mass on Monday morning will be at 9:00am.
Special Breakfast… We will have a special
breakfast next Sunday after our 9:00am Mass to show our support and our love
for our young people in bible school. We would like as many of our parishioners
as possible to participate in this breakfast, for a happy and enjoyable time
together, as one big family.
Bible School… Instructions in our Catholic Faith, is one of the more important
elements of any Church Family. We are hoping and praying that all of our
children, little ones through 12th grade, through the efforts of
their parents, will participate in our bible school classes each Sunday
morning, beginning at 10:15am for one hour.
Registration will be after Mass this Saturday & Sunday and
also after Mass next Saturday & Sunday.
The Catholic University of
America… is the national university of the Catholic Church in
the United States, located in Washington, D.C. It provides an academically
rigorous education guided by Catholic intellectual tradition to nearly 7,000
students every year. Next week is the National Collection for the Catholic
University of America. Every donated dollar directly supports financial aid for
students from dioceses across the country, including ours. Please be generous.
Changes In The Mass… What differences can we
expect in November? From the first Sunday of Advent congregations and priests
will use the texts of the Third Edition of the Roman Missal for the celebration
of Mass. While the structure, actions and pattern of the Mass will remain the
same and the reading will be unchanged, the texts of recited prayers will sound
different in our ears. Over time, as the new style of language becomes familiar
to us it is very much hoped that We
will come to appreciate both the richness and depth of our prayer at Mass.
Eucharistic Ministers/Sat Sept 3rd– Jerome Boudreax, Marjorie Testa, Norma
Huddleston----------------Lector – Don Tartt Jr.
Eucharistic Ministers/Sun Sept 4th – Myra Liberto, Barbara Liberto, Tara Trost----------------------------Lector – Mike Liberto
Choose Life… On Labor Day, let us
celebrate those who work to support their families and whose dedicated labor
also supports our nations growth. Especially let us remember those who work in
support of protection for the right to life of the unborn, the elderly and the
medically dependent.
