CYO / BIBLE SCHOOL

THANK YOU……..We had a very nice gathering at Charlie and Donna Walker’s home for the 7th grade -12th  grade CYO.  We are always very interested in the young people that are missing.  We had a few missing from the party, and from Bible School.  Let’s show our appreciation to the good people who are so willing to work with our youth by striving to be at Bible School and social functions.

RCIA

THANK YOU…….Thanks to those who have given me names of those who may be interested in RCIA.  I still encourage any who may know someone that may be interested in coming to the classes to take a sheet off the altar, fill it in and get it to me.  -MR

DAILY MASS

The eucharist is a great source of God’s blessings.  I feel that we have some more people who could avail of this blessing from time to time.  I encourage all who are able to attend daily mass whenever possible.

HOSPITAL…….. Due to the privacy act, hospitals no longer provide a list of patients for our use as clergy.  Accordingly, I need your assistance.  Please call the parish office when you have a family member, a friend, or relative hospitalized so that I may visit with them and pray with them.   –Fr. Ruane

FAMILY LIFE CENTER

Our Family Life Center is just about complete.  In the near future we will be having a social function – details to be worked out.  It is a very beautiful building we can be justly proud of.  Until we have an official gathering/blessing, I ask you to stroll through and take a look.

DIOCESAN NEWS

A reunion for anyone, adult or youth, who has visited our Diocesan Mission in Saltillo, Mexico, is planned for January 27, 2007, at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Jackson.  This reunion will coincide with our Diocesan Youth Conference.  The year 2007 marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Fr. Patrick Quinn, the mission’s founding pastor until his death on January 9, 1997.  For more information, contact Mary Woodward, Director of the Office of Evangelization for the Diocese of Jackson, at mary.woodward@jacksondiocese.org or at 601-960-8475, or at P.O. Box 2248, Jackson, MS  39225-2248.

ECHOES OF FAITH CERTIFICATION

There will be a certification class for the Echoes of Faith series on Sunday October 1st.  There will be a session after Bible School at 11:30, then another one at 5:00 pm.  Please choose the session that best fits your schedule.  This session is required for all Bible School teachers and is available for any substitute teachers that are interested.  The class is a video series that will last 2 to 21/2 hours.

INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL EXCHANGE SERVICES

We have received a call from Karen Allen at ICES.  Two students will be arriving in Tupelo this week from Mexico.  They have requested to be placed with Catholic families.  If you would be interested in participating in this wonderful opportunity by hosting one of these students for this school year, please contact Karen at ICES.  Her phone number is 662-680-9704, or you can email her at dakallen83@comcast.net.
