USHERS - MINISTERS OF
WELCOME
Sincere
gratitude to those who came to the meeting on Thursday evening. We agreed to make some what we thought were
necessary changes, and (as some said) go back to the old way. The offering taken up should be carried in
procession to the altar with the gifts of bread and wine.
When there is a second offering, it will be taken up immediately after Holy
Communion is received by all.
PLEASE
..I am asking families, if at
all possible, to be responsible for bringing the gifts to the altar on behalf of the
entire church family at that particular mass. (Ushers
If no family volunteers before mass, please ask a family to serve in this special
ministry)
ALTAR SERVERS
We had some
30 people, young and not so young, sign up for this special ministry. It will be necessary for those already serving,
and the new ones, to participate in training to go over some changes we will be making. George Parsons and Mike Liberto have agreed to
work with the servers and will be setting up a meeting that all altar servers need to
attend.
LISTS TO BE AVAILABLE
Once we have
finalized the list of servers and ushers, we will be sending out schedules and lists of
names to each person involved so that when you are unable to serve, for whatever reason,
you will be able to get a replacement.
RCIA
RCIA will
meet immediately after 6:00 pm mass on Tuesday. We
will discuss the Eucharist. Anyone who may be
interested in learning more about this topic is welcome to join us.
HAPPY VALENTINES
DAY
Happy
Valentines Day to all! Since
Valentines Day has connotations of love, we hope that you will have much love in
your heart this day, and every day, and share it with others.
FIRST COMMUNION
There will
be a First Communion meeting on Saturday, February 17th after 6:00 pm mass. Father Ruane would like to meet with all the First
Communion children and their parents.
FAT TUESDAY
The Knights
of Columbus will be having a Fat Tuesday celebration on Tuesday, February 20, after 6:00
pm mass. They will be fixing red beans and
rice, and ask that everyone bring a pot luck item (or goodies of some sort) to contribute
to this event.
COME ONE, COME ALL
Now that we
are set up in our new building, we hope that you will join us for coffee and doughnuts
beginning this weekend. If you are interested
in helping with this, please see the sign up sheet in the back of church.
BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS - The deadline for announcements will be
on Thursday at noon.
Please
contact the rectory at 226-2490, or send an email to stpeter@cableone.net.
