There will be a Youth Lenten Gathering on Sunday, April 1 at 5:00 pm.  Dinner will be served.

 

CONGRATULATIONS – Congratulations to Dylan, Dustin, Brooklynn Willie, and Alexis and Marcus Cook who will be reborn in the waters of baptism this Saturday evening after the 6:00 pm mass.  May God bless these children and their families on this happy occasion.

 

CHRISM MASS

The Chrism Mass will be on Tuesday, April 3, at 5:45 pm. at St. Peter Cathedral.  With the limited space at the Cathedral parking lot, everyone is encouraged to park in the AmSouth parking lot located on Amite Street, just above the Marriott.  The fee is $2.00 per hour.  Limited parking is also available on the street.  Visitors using the Cathedral parking lot must be sensitive not to block in anyone when parking.  Regular patrons parking there need to be able to get to their cars.

 

REMEMBER IN PRAYER – Please remember in your prayers Johnny and Carole Morrison, whose three-month old grandchild died this past week in Starkville.  Our thoughts and prayers will be with them and their family during this difficult time.

SEDER SUPPER/POTLUCK

We are making preparations for our parish Seder Supper, which will be on Wednesday, April 4.  If you would like to help out, please contact the rectory.

 

LECTORS/EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

It is very important that you be aware of the liturgies you have been scheduled for.  Please serve when appointed, or try to find a replacement if you cannot be there.

 

GOOD FRIDAY

Good Friday is a day of fast and abstinence.  Catholics in good health who are age 14 and older are obliged to abstain from meat.  In addition, they are limited to one full meal, and two smaller snacks.

 

Holy Land Collection.  A special collection will be taken up on Good Friday for the support of the Church’s work in the Holy Lands.  During this time of turmoil the plight and suffering of Palestinian Christians has become desperate.  Our support of the work of the Church in the Holy Lands is even more important than ever. 

 

EASTER EGG HUNT - We will have a nice, simple Easter egg hunt after mass on Easter Sunday morning our children (little ones through 6th grade).  It is always fun to see the little ones get excited when they find an egg “growing” in the middle of the grass!

 

CATHOLIC CHARITIES WORK TRIP

The next Catholic Charities Work Trip has been scheduled for April 26-29.Please consider joining us in Pass Christian as we help rebuild their community.  Lodging and meals provided, you must be at least 18.  Contact Theresa at 601-326-3758 for more information.  Deadline for signing up is Monday, April 16.
