BISHOP’S 2007 CATHOLIC SERVICE APPEAL

The annual offering for the Catholic Sharing Appeal will be taken up next Sunday.  We ask you to keep your CSA contributions until the second collection on May 5th or 6th.   We will also play a special taped message from your Bishop next weekend.

FIRST COMMUNION

Congratulations to Andrew Cook, Victoria Menhal, Nolan Walker, Dustin Willie, and Dylan Willie who will be celebrating their First Communion on Sunday, May 13.  We ask God to bless them, the most loved of his flock, the children.

SENIORS

We congratulate Beth Livingston, Cory Geiger, and Nick Palazzola on their upcoming graduation.  We know that God will bless them, and we pray that they will remain faithful to the Lord and to their faith.  We hope they will be able to join us as we honor them at mass on Sunday, May 20.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

We are beginning to collect shoe boxes for Vacation Bible School.  If you have any shoe boxes, with a removable top, please leave them in the back of church.  Also, anyone interested in helping in any capacity with Vacation Bible School is encouraged to contact Frankie Fortier, or Father Ruane.  We need helpers in many areas, including teaching, decorating, assistants to station leaders, supply people, etc.

MAY CROWNING

We are going to honor our blessed Mother on Sunday, May 6th with a special hour of prayer for our entire church family.  We hope to follow this celebration with a hamburger supper for all of our church family.  The May Crowning service will begin at 6:00 pm.  The crown will be placed by one of our First Communion children.

JESUS

In Chemistry, he turned water to wine.  In Biology, he was born without the normal conception.  In physics, he disproved the law of gravity when he ascended into heaven.  In Economics, he disproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5000 men with two fish and five loaves of bread.  In medicine, he cured the sick and the blind, without administering a single dose of drugs.  In history, he is the beginning and the end.  In government, he said that he shall be called wonderful counselor, prince of peace.  In religion, he said no one comes to the Father except through him.  Jesus had no servants, yet they called him master; had no degree, yet they called him teacher; had no medicines, yet they called him healer.  He had no armies, yet rulers feared him.  He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world.  He committed no crime, yet they crucified him.  He was buried in a tomb, yet he lives today.  I feel honored to serve such a leader who loves us!  Join us and let us celebrate him; he is worthy.

WORDS OF WISDOM

Hurtful things wrinkle the heart.  Forgiveness puts it back in shape.

I can’t fill God’s shoes, but I can follow his steps.  I can handle one step at a time.
