                                                            Father Martin Ruane, Pastor

          www.olesouth.net/stpeter  email: stpeter@cableone.net

WELCOME – We welcome Father Al Camp who will take care of these weekends that Father Ruane is on vacation. It is almost impossible to find a substitute priest because of the scarcity of priest. So we are most thankful Father Camp is willing to help us out. Please treat him with kindness and hospitality.

CONGRADULATIONS We congratulate Nicholas and Martha Castle Liberto who were married last Saturday here at Saint Peter’s Church. They have made their home here in Grenada. We welcome them to our church family.

VACATION TIME – Father Ruane will be visiting family and friends in Ireland during the month of August. He asks for remembrance in your prayers during this time, and promises to remember all our Saint Peter Church Family in his daily Masses and prayers.  Thanks and God Bless

COMMUNION SERVICE While Father Ruane is on vacation we will not have daily Mass, because no priest is available. We will have a daily communion service the same time as our daily Masses. They are made up of daily scripture prayers and the privilege to receive Holy Communion.

USHERS AND LECTORSWe thank our parishioners who serve as faithfully at ushers and lectors at Mass. We are always in need of additional ushers and lectors and if anyone is interested please call the rectory or let Father Ruane know.

CHOOSE LIFE – California’s stem cell institute revealed recently that not one embryonic stem cell therapy is expected to be approved for market within the next 10 years. This is in stark contrast to the arguments made before California voters approved Proposition 71 that allocated three billion dollars to embryonic stem cell research. During the campaign for passage, proponents of the measure clearly implied that miraculous cures were just around the corner.  (San Diego Union-Tribune 10/5/06)
