WELCOME – We welcome Father Al Camp who will
take care of these weekends that Father Ruane is on vacation. It is almost impossible to
find a substitute priest because of the scarcity of priest. So we are most thankful Father
Camp is willing to help us out. Please treat him with kindness and hospitality.
VACATION TIME – Father Ruane will be visiting family
and friends in Ireland during the month of August. He asks for remembrance in your prayers
during this time, and promises to remember all our Saint Peter Church Family in his daily
Masses and prayers. Thanks and God Bless
COMMUNION SERVICE – While Father Ruane is on vacation we
will not have daily Mass, because no priest is available. We will have a daily communion
service the same time as our daily Masses. They are made up of daily scripture prayers and
the privilege to receive Holy Communion.

USHERS AND LECTORS – We thank our parishioners who serve as
faithfully at ushers and lectors at Mass. We are always in need of additional ushers and
lectors and if anyone is interested please call the rectory or let Father Ruane know.
CHOOSE LIFE – The Bible teaches that God is a God
of justice. An act of justice is an act of intervention for the helpless, an act of
defense for those who are too weak to defend themselves. Abortion is a reversal of
justice. It is a destruction of the helpless rather than a rescue of them. “If
God’s people do not intervene to save those whose lives are attacked, then the people
are not pleasing or worshiping God, states Father Frank Pavone, founder of Priest for life.”

CATHOLIC CHARITIES –
Catholic charities is seeking a volunteer individual or team who is interested in leading
our Elder Justice program, which seeks to protect the rights and interests of our states
senior citizens. Training will be provided. For further information please contact Michale
Ann Oropeza at 601-326-3725 or mike.oropeza@catholiccharitiesjackson.org.
HOSPITAL VISITATION – Please call us at the rectory if you
or a member of your family is in the hospital in Grenada or elsewhere. Hospitals have a
privacy policy that doesn’t make known the people in the hospital. I would like to
visit people while in the hospital if at all possible to pray with them and to give them a
little encouragement.
LITURGICAL MINISTERS – During these holiday month’s
people are frequently out of town on weekends. Please contact somebody to take your place
if you are unable to serve on your weekend.
SICK/HOMEBOUND/HOSPITALIZED - If you have anyone who is ill or
homebound, or hospitalized please contact the rectory so they can be added to our prayer
list, and Father Ruane can visit with them and pray them.
