ANNUAL REUNION
FR. Ruane will be
attending an annual reunion (traditionally known as the reunion of priests who were
ordained at St. Patrick seminary in Ireland) with his brother priests. It is an
opportunity to stay in touch with friends, to relax together, play a little golf and offer
Mass for the happy repose of the deceased members. The reunion runs from Monday January 5th
through Wednesday January 8th. Please
call the Church office (226-2490) or Karla (417-2333) if you need something during this
time.
SINCERE GRADATUDE I would like to thank our
church family members who remembered me in a special way at Christmas. I cherish your goodness and kindness and pray God
will Bless all of us in 2009.
Fr. Ruane.
PLEASE
Remember in your prayers
Catherine Jones from Gore Springs who was in a serious auto accident. She is in the
hospital in Memphis but thankfully she is doing a little better.
BIBLE SCHOOL
Now that Bible School has
resumed, we again encourage all of our children to participate in these
classes. We are always disappointed when some of our children are absent for varying
reasons.
2009 Offertory Envelopes
for registered
parishioners can be picked up in the
vestibule. Please call the Parish Office if you do not find your envelopes or if you are
new to the parish and need envelopes.
THE R.C.I.A. will begin back on
Tuesday January 6th after the 6:00pm Mass. The Topic will be:
The Sacrament of Baptism.
FAITH ENRICHMENT
There will be a Faith
Enrichment workshop for all who participated in the first session of Why Catholic? and any other interested
person. The convenient workshop for us here in Grenada will be at St. Francis of Assisi in
Greenwood, Jan. 11, 2009 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.
CHOOSE LIFE
The
infant Jesus adored at Christmas was, like each of us, an unborn child who began and grew
in his mothers womb. God-made-man accepted each and every phase of our humanity to
demonstrate the sacredness of human life at all stages.
WORLD World Marriage Day will be
celebrated February 15th at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Jackson. If you
MARRIAGE are celebrating 25, 50, or 60 years of marriage in
2009 please call us at the rectory at 226-2490,
DAY
we would love for you to celebrate this happy event with other couples from around
the diocese.
