ECHOES OF FAITH CERTIFICATION

There will be a certification class for the Echoes of Faith series on Sunday October 1^st.  There will be a session after Bible School at 11:30, then another one at 5:00 pm.  Please choose the session that best fits your schedule.  This session is required for all Bible School teachers and is available for any substitute teachers that are interested.  The class is a video series that will last 2 to 21/2 hours.

RCIA

Thanks to those who have given me names of those who may be interested in RCIA.  The letters were sent out this week, but I still encourage any who may know someone that may be interested in coming to the classes to take a sheet off the altar, fill it in and get it to me.  The classes will begin on Tuesday, October 10 at 6:45 pm.  I welcome anyone interested to join us.  -MR

CYO NEWS

October 22 – There will be a meeting immediately after Bible School to get ready for the Fall Carnival.

October 29 – FALL CARNIVAL – 5:00.   Hamburger/Hot Dog supper - $5:00.  Games, costume contest.  All CYO members need to bring 2 cakes for the cake walk.

 

INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL EXCHANGE SERVICES

MARCH OF DIMES

The March of Dimes is holding their annual Grenada WalkAmerica on Sunday, October 1 at 2:00 at Grenada Medical Complex (the old Wal Mart building).  The Stewart family, Rusty, Joan, Camille, Ben and Samuel are the March of Dimes Ambassador Family for Grenada.  There will be entertainment, Big Bird, food, and other festivities.  We encourage our church family to come out in support of the Stewart family and this worthy cause.

 

DIOCESAN NEWS

George Evans, St. Richard Pastoral Minister, leads a workshop, “Catholic Social Teachings and the Life of Prayer and Sacrament”, on Saturday, November 11^th, 2006 in the gathering room of the new building at St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson from 9:00 to 12:00 with registration, coffee and donuts at 8:30.  A nursery will be provided.

 

A reunion for anyone, adult or youth, who has visited our Diocesan Mission in Saltillo, Mexico, is planned for January 27, 2007, at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Jackson.  This reunion will coincide with our Diocesan Youth Conference.  The year 2007 marks the 10^th anniversary of the death of Fr. DAILY MASS

The eucharist is a great source of God’s blessings.  I feel that we have some more people who could avail of this blessing from time to time.  I encourage all who are able to attend daily mass whenever possible.

 

FAMILY LIFE CENTER

Our Family Life Center is just about complete.  In the near future we will be having a social function – details to be worked out.  It is a very beautiful building we can be justly proud of.  Until we have an official gathering/blessing, I ask you to stroll through and take a look.
