    DiocesanThe Priests of the Diocese, Lay ministers and Ecclesial Ministers will be participating in the ConvocationDiocesan Convocation beginning Monday afternoon Oct. 12th and ending Thurs. Oct. 15th.  All the above are reminded by the Bishop that they are to participate. For this reason Fr. Ruane who will be taking part in the Convocation will be unable to have Mass on Tues., Wed. and Thurs.     

     

Why Catholic?”… All of our “Why Catholic?” groups should be ready to start this week. The books have been given to the group leaders.  We encourage all who signed up to try to participate, come on time, read the material before hand and you should really enjoy your group meeting.

P.S. We ask that whatever building you use for your group especially if it is a night meeting to lock all doors and turn off heat and cooler.  A Big Thank You!

 

Protection of Children“In accordance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People passed by the U. S. bishops in Dallas, as well as diocese policies regarding sexual misconducts by clergy or lay church personnel, the Diocese of Jackson encourages any victim of sexual abuse or exploitation by a member of the Catholic Clergy or church personnel to come forward and begin the healing process. When an allegation is found to be credible, counseling will be offered, so that the healing process can begin in accord with our present diocesan policy. We encourage any victim to contact Mrs. Louise Dillon, Victims Assistance Coordinator at 601-326-3728.”

Father RuaneFr. Ruane has been invited to the First Methodist Church in Grenada, to speak to their young people at their morning gathering on October 20th at 7:00am.
