RCIA

We’re happy to announce that we’ve had a nice gathering of people at the RCIA classes (on Tuesdays, after the 6:00 mass.)  Again, we welcome and invite you to join us this Tuesday evening.  This week’s topic:  God.

CRY ROOM

In our churches, the purpose of the cry room is to help people with little babies, or small children who may be crying, or need attention.  I’m asking, as your priest and friend, if you have left the crying stage, please leave the room for those with little children who need it.  PS – Even in new churches, the cry room is being built intentionally small to keep members from slipping in there. – Fr.Ruane

DIOCESAN NEWS

In an initiative sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Jackson, Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi, Mississippi Conference of the United Methodist Church, and the Coalition for Children’s Welfare, we invite you to begin a dialogue about why Mississippi’s children consistently rank last in child well-being.  Though this initiative is spearheaded by the Bishops of the three denominations, we invite people of all faith, members of the business community, and any and all persons who wish to engage in dialogues about our children.  This meeting will be help on Saturday, November 4 at 9:00 am, St. Mary Catholic Church, 120 Hwy 35 North, Batesville.  Please RSVP to the St. Mary Church office – 563-2273.

LADIES AUXILIARY

The Ladies Auxiliary will have “Keep Christ in Christmas” cards for sale in November.  If you are looking for gifts for any occasion, including Christmas, they also have religious articles available for purchase.  Please contact Rosa Buzzarde or Connie Fariss for more information.

DAILY MASS

The eucharist is a great source of God’s blessings.  I feel that we have some more people who could avail of this blessing from time to time.  I encourage all who are able to attend daily mass whenever possible.

PLEASE REMEMBER – Let us think carefully before we order.  When a box arrives, usually a bill arrives shortly thereafter.  Please also remember to check thermostats, lights and doors when leaving our buildings.

PLEASE NOTE

The scripture readings for the daily masses are printed on the back of the bulletin.  We encourage you to try as a family to read these readings during the week so you will be united with those who attend daily mass and we will be united as a church family.

ROSARY

October is traditionally the month of the holy rosary.  We have been praying the rosary before our daily masses, and we’re hoping that maybe a few extra people will join us.  However, the rosary is traditionally a family prayer, built around the slogan of the famous priest, Father Peyton, “The family that prays together, stays together”.
