PARISH NEWCOMERS WELCOME We encourage all of our new parish family members to try to be with us for our Christmas Supper, so that we can acknowledge them and welcome them. This will include anybody who has come to our parish in the last year or two.

DATES            November 27th Thanksgiving: Special Mass 9:00am Thanksgiving Day.

TO                December 10th Parish Penance (confession) Service 6:00pm.

REMEMBER      December 14th Parish Christmas Supper, highlighted hopefully by the

appearance of our Catholic Santa Clause with his sack of candy for the children.

C.  Our young people are anxious to participate in the CYO Convention, which comes up in the near future. Like

Y. every thing else the cost has gone up rather severely. We want our young people to attend and together with

O. some of the parents, we thought it would be a great idea to have a bake sale in conjunction with our Christmas

      Parish Supper, details later.

BORN AGAIN we congratulate Stephen and Katherine Garrick Smith who’s infant child will be reborn in the waters of baptism this Sunday 11/9/2008 at 2:00pm and may God Bless the entire family.

SINCERE GRATITUDE to our people who participated in our Memorial Service for our faithful departed this past Sunday evening, and to our Knights of Columbus and anyone who helped with the supper.

R.C.I.A. You are invited to join us this Tuesday evening after the 6:00pm Mass to continue our discussion of our Catholic Faith. Discussion this week: The Gift Of Happiness.

CARMELITE MONASTERY…if you are leaning toward something of a religious nature as a Christmas gift for some body, please consider the Carmelite Gift Shop in Jackson. They have quite a variety, and to help them is a very worthy cause.

WHY CATHOLIC?” “The Why Catholic?” program has reached the half way mark of the 6-week session. We continue to get good feed back from different people and we encourage you, if at all possible, to continue to be faithful to the sessions, sincere gratitude to the leaders of the program.

CHOOSE LIFEBy defending the embryo, we defend the idea of human life as having inherent dignity. If we dismiss the embryo as a form of life we can destroy at will for supposed medical benefits, we leave little basis for defending other unpopular or marginalized members of the human race once someone sees them as being worth more dead than alive.” (Richard Doerflinger, Associate Director of USCCB’s Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities)
