Sincere Gratitudeto Fathers Noonan, Hurley, Messina, and O’Brien who will join Fr. Ruane for our Christmas Penance Service on Wed. evening, Dec. 9th at 6:15pm. Please make every effort to be with us on this very special preparation for Christ’s Birthday.

Say HI We would like to be known as a very friendly and welcoming Church Family. Ushers, Ministers of Welcome and Church Family in general, please welcome anybody you feel that is new. Stretch out a hand, wear a smile, and be friendly. Isn’t that what any good family is supposed to be.

Ifyou would like to make a donation toward the cost of Poinsettias for Christmas please find an envelope in the vestibule as you enter the Church. Thank you.

Ifwe have any couples celebrating 25, 50, 60, 65 years of marriage in 2009/2010 you are invited to participate in World Marriage Day, Feb. 14th 2010, with the Bishop. Details later.

Food Pantry As you know St. Peter’s is making a commitment to help provide food for the Food Pantry so that nobody in our community will be hungry over the Christmas season. I thank those who brought non-perishable food items on Thanksgiving morning. If you were unable to do so at this time I encourage you to bring them when you can and put them in the first room to the right of the main entrance to the education room building. [Some people know this as the orange room]

New EnvelopesSincere Gratitude to our many parishioners who support our parish and Building Fund so generously as a Church Family. The participation of all when possible is so important, please pick up your new envelopes and if at possible use them regularly. They are in alphabetical order in the entrance of the church.

As PromisedWe invite all our children, little ones, through grade six and their parents to a Special Mass on Tuesday December 15th. The children will be participating in the reading and singing. We will have a special treat and time together. The desired treat seems to be pizza. We look forward to having a good time with this part of our church family.

New ComersWe would very much like to welcome our new families and to recognize them if at all possible at our annul Christmas Supper on December 13th.

Time ChangeBecause of Father Ruane’s involvement in a wedding at 5:30pm on December 19, Our Saturday evening Mass, on that day only, will be at 6:30pm.  MR

Choose Life Writing in the Michigan Law Review about Oregon’s assisted suicide law, two physicians stated that reasonable sounding safeguards, which proponents said were there to protect patients, do not appear to have achieved that purpose and are easily circumvented. “As a result, Oregon physicians appear to have been given great power without being in a position to exercise it responsibly.”  (NRL News June 2008)
