FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

December 8 is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, which is a Holy Day of Obligation.  Mass will be at St. Peter’s at 8:00 am, and 6:00 pm.

RCIA

The RCIA class will resume on Tuesday, December 5th.  The topic will be Advent, and the Liturgical Church Year, among others.  We continue to invite anyone who would be interested to stop in and join us at RCIA class.

CHRISTMAS SUPPER

We had a very good response last week from those planning to participate in our Christmas Supper.  We will make that offering again this weekend as we hope to have as many as possible come join in this special occasion.  The Catholic Santa Claus seems to be in good shape and hopefully he will bring candy for the children.  RECIPE – good food and good fun!

PENANCE SERVICE (CONFESSION)

The date has been set for quite awhile, December 13th, 6:00 pm.  We are hoping that our church family members will take this opportunity for us to do something special together for the birthday of our savior by giving him our sins in a good confession.

Sincere Gratitude – We are most grateful to our priests, some of whom will be traveling long distances to help with confessions.  Let us not disappoint them by failing to participate.  We welcome Fathers O’Brien, Hurley, Messina, and Daniels.

ADVENT

We have secured a nice daily family devotion booklet for each family, to be used at home during the Advent season.  Please take one, and do your best to select a time most suitable for the family to do these devotions together.

THANKS – Sincere gratitude to Mr. Ed Merriman who has procured a nice new stand for our Advent wreath.  Thanks also to Jerome Boudreax for sprucing up our beautiful Advent wreath.

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS – We are asking, if you can, to give a donation toward the flowers that will decorate our church.  Try to make this in addition to your church support, not instead of.  Envelopes for the Christmas flowers are in the back of church.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY

We will be beginning a new Adult Bible Study in the next few weeks.  The title is “Genesis:  God’s Creative Call”.  We encourage anyone interested to participate.  Please contact Jeannie Logan for more information.
