Right to Life CampaignBishop Latino is asking all parishes in the Diocese of Jackson to participate in a post card writing campaign against the Freedom of Choice Act. As it is written now the Freedom Of Choice Act will take away most of the restrictions already in place for abortions and will jeopardize the mission of Catholic Health Institutions. Cards for this purpose are attached to your bulletin.

“WHY CATHOLIC?”We are strongly encouraging those who did not have a chance to participate in the last session to make every effort to participate in the one beginning in Lent, the effervesce in this new session will be on Scripture and Tradition and should prove to be interesting and informative.

R.……Please remember the happy repose of the souls of Rayeanne

I.…..Smith’s mother and Rusty Stewart’s mother whom the

PLord called home recently. May they rest in peace.

THE R.C.I.A. will meet this Tuesday February 3rd immediately after the 6:00pm Mass.

The Topic will be: A Short Review of The Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist.

CHOOSE LIFESeeing in an ultrasound the unborn child she is carrying has been a powerful influence on women contemplating abortion. One study showed 75.5 percent of undecided women decided not to have an abortion after viewing her baby’s ultrasound. (The Southern Cross, August, 2008)

A SPECIAL GIFTWe have as part of our Catholic Faith made available to us almost every day the beautiful gift of the Eucharist. [Mass] When we have the privilege of sharing the scripture readings and dining with the Lord at His table when we receive His Body and Blood, wouldn’t it be wonderful if more of our people would share in this gift.
