CATHOLIC PRESS MONTHFebruary is the Month the “Mississippi Catholic” is due. Bishop Latino asks us to send a copy of the Mississippi Catholic to every family in our parish, if you have already done so…sincere gratitude…if not please help us by remitting $20.00 for the parish subscription.

HEALING MASSWe are all mindful of the fact that Jesus Christ does much of

the healing when we are sick. For this reason I would like to start a Mass of Healing on

the first Friday of each month at 10:00am. A Mass of Healing is completely different from

the anointing that takes place in the case of serious sickness. I’m hoping that many of our

people will avail of this opportunity and we are hoping to have a little brunch and fellowship afterwards.

“WHY CATHOLIC?”- The second section of  “Why Catholic?” will start the week of February 22nd.  The group participants, meeting times, days and locations remain the same as your first session, unless you have been notified otherwise. The book is the same as before. Any new participants, please call Gerry Morris; 417-1160

THE R.C.I.A. will meet this Thursday night February 19th at 6:30pm, instead of this Tuesday, Father Ruane will be attending a priest retirement supper at St. Peter in Jackson.

The Topic will be: A Short Review of The Holy Eucharist and the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

Ash Wednesday                                                                       PENANCE SERVICE

The masses on Ash Wednesday will                                                         Please plan now to participate in our

be at 8:00am and 6:00pm, more on the                                                     Lenten Penance Service set for

Holy Season of Lent in next weeks bulletin.                                             March 25th at 6:00pm, details later.

CHOOSE LIFEThere is a nation wide effort to pass laws requiring abortion providers to offer a woman the opportunity to review an ultrasound image of her unborn child. One physician states: “Allowing a patient to view her ultrasound examination implies respect for the dignity and autonomy of a patient, and her ability to participate wisely in her own plan of care.” (The Southern Cross, August, 2008)
