CONGRATULATIONS     Roseann Flem who will be entering and reentering our St. Peter Catholic Church Family

 on Holy Saturday night through The Sacrament of Initiation, Baptism, Communion, and Eucharist. 

 

WAY OF THE Cross  - Won’t you please make a genuine effort to relive again the journey Christ followed on 

the road to Calvary each Friday evening at 6:15pm and also to receive the Lord in Holy Communion.

 

MASS OF HEALINGthis coming Friday, April 3rd is the first Friday of the month. The Mass of Healing will be celebrated at 10:00am. The Anointing of Healing is asking the good Lord for health of mind, soul and body.    

 

THE SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR RETIRED PRIESTS The second offering this week is taken up for the sick and retired priests. We have a large number of retired priests, as you may have seen in the Mississippi Catholic each parish is assessed to help support this need and our parish is assessed for over $2,000.00. Please be as generous as possible.    

 

LENTEN FRIDAY   Each Friday during the Holy Season of Lent, [with the exception of, the 1st Friday of 

 AT ST. PETER        each month,] we will have Mass at 8:00am, Stations of the Cross, scripture reading,

                                        a short meditation followed by Holy Communion beginning at 6:15pm.

 

FOOD ITEMSSome of our “Why Catholic?” groups have talked to Fr. Ruann about non-perishable food items which will help the needy of our community. A large box for this purpose will be in the room directly behind the Rectory. [Old AA Room] Please place your non-perishable items in this box and they in return will be given to the Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen.

 

CATFISH SUPPER The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Catfish Supper Friday April 3rd.

We hope that our people will come to Church first, including the Knights, if possible, and then we can all

get together and have camaraderie and fellowship at the Family Life Center. 

 

PLEASElet us all make a genuine effort to make Lent a special time in Our Church.

1. Daily Mass when possible.                                    5. Less negative gossip.             

2. Participating in “Why Catholic?”                          6. Prayer when possible in the home with the family.                              

3. Participating in the Mass of Healing.                    7. More kindness, compassion, and affirmation.

4. A kinder, gentler people.                                       8. A good confession by participating in our Penance Service.

THE R.C.I.A. will meet with Fr. Ruane, this Saturday at 10:00am April 4th in the Church. Hopefully you will be able to adjust your schedule. It is important that you be here with us. This will be our last gathering before Holy Week.    

 

FATHER RUANEwill be speaking this Monday of Holy Week 4/6/09, at the First Presbyterian Church, Services will be at 12:00pm noon.
