1ST HOLY COMMUNIONOne of the more beautiful days in our church year is the Sunday when our

little ones make their 1st Holy Communion. It is also a very happy day for their parents and the

rest of the church family. Our children making their 1st Holy Communion are; Summer Lee,

Cislee Trost, Angela Badome, Hayden Beck, Brooklyn Willie, Brandon Mardis, Kezia Stuebben,

Olivianne Mardis. May God Bless all on this special day.

CONFIRMATION RETREATWe will have a mandatory Confirmation Retreat this Wednesday, May the 13th  [The most satisfactory date] we are aware that there are all kinds of competing activities this time of year, but I am asking you to please give Priority to this Retreat, which will begin at 3:30pm and will be followed by a hamburger supper 6:00 – 6:30. We would like to have parents and sponsors present for the supper. We welcome and thank Father Hurley for this occasion.

CONFIRMATIONCongratulations and God Bless our young people who are to be confirmed

and they are: Jeff Wagner, Kate Logan, Joseph Messina, Crispina Purvis, Ann Elizabeth Walker,

Ben Stewart, Phillip Geiger, Adam Liberto, Mathew Mumme, and Jesus’ Martinez.

MAY CROWNING Since our people did not respond too well to a special service in

honor of our Blessed Mother we will have May Crowning after Mass on May the 17th. The

crown will be placed on our Blessed Mother by one of our 1st Communion children, the name to

be drawn from a hat. We encourage our children and our parents to bring flowers for our little

procession to the Altar at the end of Mass.

CHOOSE LIFE Motherhood never comes without a sacrifice, as Pam’s story illustrates. She became pregnant while she and her husband were missionaries in the Philippines, and then she contracted amoebic dysentery there. Gravely ill she was treated with strong antibiotics before anyone knew she was pregnant. Doctors predicted devastating disabilities and urged her to abort her unborn child. She refused, endured numerous difficulties before giving birth to a healthy child whom she promised God would become a preacher. Not only did her son, Tim Tebow, fulfill that promise but went on to become the youngest college football player ever to win the Heisman Trophy.
