MAY CROWNING May is traditionally a month set aside for special devotion to

our Blessed Mother. We will have a special service at the end of Sunday Mass, this Sunday,

May the 17th. That service will consist of bringing flowers in procession at the end of Mass in

honor of our Blessed Mother. A procession with the crown by our First Communion children,

to be placed on the Blessed Mother by the child’s name drawn from the basket. The Rosary is

traditionally a family prayer made famous by Fr. Peyton who coined the phrase THE FAMILY

THAT PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER. It would be wonderful if some of our people could pray the Rosary at home.

SINCERE GRATITUDEWe thank our young people, sponsors and parents for their cooperation in participating in our Confirmation Retreat. A special thank you to those who prepared and served the food.

CONGRATULATIONSWe congratulate, Angela Brook Brunson and Benjamin Craig Burnham who

AND BEST WISHES      will be united in the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony here at St. Peter, June the 16th at 4:00pm. Angela is the daughter of Bill and Angela Brunson.

some circumstances – but to everyone all the time.”  (Thomas J. Watson, 1874-1956, Founder of IBM)

3. What blocks a positive attitude?   *Self-Pity  *A sense of helplessness  *Tragic events in one’s life  *Lack of

    Anger  *Feeling trapped by circumstances.

This I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.  Lamentations 3:21-23

CHOOSE LIFE “Our president ought to look at what abortion has done to the poor and minority women in this country… ‘The abortion rate (number of abortions per 1,000 women of child-bearing age) for black women is almost five times that of white women,’ according to Susan Cohen of the Alan Guttmacher Institute. Cohen also notes that ‘the abortion rate among Hispanic women is doubled the rate among whites.” (Wanda Franz, PH.D., NRL News, 2/09)
