MEMORIAL
DAY
Happy
Memorial Day to everybody, if you are traveling we wish you safety
on the roads. Let us remember with love
those who have lost their lives in war and all of those who are in
the way of danger each day. Remember, THE
FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER. It would be wonderful if some of our
people could pray the Rosary at home.
RIP
We ask our church family, please
remember in your prayers the happy repose of Catherine Jones,
whom the Lord called home this week,
may the Lord give her eternal rest and bless her family and friends
in their loneliness and grief.
CONFIRMATION
Date: June 7th, 2009
FIVE WAYS TO MAKE YOUR PARISH A
BETTER PLACE
Think of yourself as a part of your parish
family. Family members dont always agree, but they do feel a strong commitment to
the family.
Use your gifts and talents for the good of
the parish. If youre a singer, public speaker, musician or just a friendly, helpful
person, get involved as a lector, usher, greeter, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion
or part of the parish music ministry.
Attend parish events. Whether its a
mission, a lecture or lawn fete, its important to support the spiritual, education
and social parts of parish life. Invite family members and friends to join you!
Support your parish financially. Parishes need
your help with operational expenses, energy costs, supplies and maintenance. Be generous.
Pray. Keep your pastor, the parish staff and
the parishioners in your daily prayers. Pray also for the return of Catholics who have
strayed from practice of their faith.

and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come

CHOOSE LIFE
The question is no longer
whether we are on a slippery slope, careening downward toward a world of machine tooled
and stunted humanity-a world in love is displaced by technique and longing by social
planning. Were on the slope all right,
and the question is whether the brakes can be applied soon enough. (George Weigel, The Southern Cross,
