FATHERS DAY
I would like to wish all fathers,
grandfathers, etc
a very happy, peaceful and blessed Fathers Day. We hear much
about neglectful fathers but we rarely hear anything about good fathers and there are so
many of them too. We will honor our fathers on this
Fathers Day with a special recognition, prayer and breakfast after the 9:00 Sunday
Mass. God Bless you all.
A Special Breakfast
We would like to show our love and
appreciation for our young people who have just received the Sacrament of Confirmation
by having a breakfast after the 9:00am Mass today, June the 21st. It would also
be an opportunity to show our love and respect for our many wonderful fathers who often
get lost in the shuffle. We wound like to make this a happy occasion and we are hoping as
many of our church family as possible will participate in this happy event.
Rite Of Christian Initiation Of Adults
The R.C.I.A. will resume in the fall.
If you know of anyone interested in the R.C.I.A., or for more information, please call the
Rectory at 662-226-2490.
Renew: Why Catholic
The next segment of the Why
Catholic? program will resume in October. There will be an opportunity to re-sign or
to sign up for the first time in September. We hope that the leaders and groups will
continue with parishioners joining the groups for the first time or forming new groups.
For more information, call the Rectory at 662-226-2490.
Choose Life
The impact of an abortion is
like a stone thrown into the water, sending out ripples of pain and hurt and devastation
in all directions. Fathers of aborted children are the neglected victims of abortion who,
once they recognize the moral and spiritual gravity of their action or inaction, may
experience deep rage and a gut-wrenching sorrow so overwhelming, it can, if
not healed, emotionally paralyze a man forever. (Dave Andrusko, NRL News, 10/07)
QUOTES______________________________________
1. What if there had been
Three Wise Woman instead of Three Wise Men? They
would have:
(1)asked for directions;
(2) been on time; (3) helped deliver the baby; (4) brought practical gifts; (5) cleaned
the stable; (6) made a casserole. Letter to the Independent,
December 1999
2. Whereof one cannot
speak, thereof one must be silent. Ludwig Wittgenstine (1889-1951)
3. It is with the heart
that one sees rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. Antoine de St. Exupery (1900-1944)
4. A newspaper reporter sent a telegram to Cary Grant
asking, HOW OLD CARY GRANT? He replied, OLD CARY GRANT FINE, HOW YOU?
5. Life is something to do
when you cant get to sleep.
