Why Catholic?................................A Disciple’s Prayer………………………………………….

Loving God and Father,                                                                                   Let our hearts burn within us

help us to be people of prayer,                                                                         as we catch glimpses of your heart in Jesus,

committed to the person and message of Jesus your Son.                               For through him, we know your loving plan for us.

Help us to grasp the integrity and beauty                                                        We ask this through Jesus the Christ who lives

of the truths of our faith and                                                                            with you and the Holy Spirit

the transforming power of your grace.                                                             in one loving Trinity.  Amen

Nourish and strengthen us as people of faith,

disciples of Jesus, committed to the mission of the Church

and eager to share the gospel without restraint.

WELCOME, NEWCOMERS! We welcome newcomers to our parish and we encourage those who are new in the parish to register as parishioners.  Newcomers with children are encouraged to register their children in the Parish School of Religion in August.  New parishioner registration forms can be found on the bulletin board in the vestibule or may be picked up at the Parish Rectory.

                                                   WORTH WHILE QUOTES

1. Moral indignation is jealousy with a halo. H.G. Wells (1866-1946)

2. “He who receives a benefit should never forget it; he who bestows should never remember it.”  Pierre Charron, French Philosopher and Author (1941-1603)

3. When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.  Mark Twain, American writer

4. Heckler: Go ahead, Al (Smith, 1873-1944) Tell’em all you know. It won’t take you long.

Al Smith: If I tell’em all we both know, it won’t take me any longer.

CHOOSE LIFE – Because of the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, an unborn baby now has a legal status similar to what a black slave had under the 1857 Dred Scott decision.  As with a black slave in the 19th century, the unborn the unborn baby now has no legal rights, and is the “property” of the owner (the mother).  In fact, the unborn child is worse off since she can be killed, if the owner wishes, anytime before birth.
