Choose Life Allowing the use of public funds for embryonic stem-cell research is “without ethical or scientific justification,” stated the president of the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy for Life. President Obama’s executive order (3/9/09) to allow this funding is based on “utilitarian logic” that fails to take into account the fact that embryos are human beings. “It is about the destruction of human beings in order to turn them into material for experimentation.”  (Southern Cross, March, 2009)
