Faith Formation
You are encouraged to participate in the Diocesan Faith
Formation Day on Saturday, September the 19, 2009 at St. Francis Church in Madison.
Registration is at 8:30am to 9:30am followed by many excellent presentations. The cost
$30.00 per person, for more info call the Rectory at 662-226-2490.
Choose Life
The logic of the modern age dictates,
Let us declare that God is dead, then we ourselves will be God. At last we no longer
belong to anyone else; rather we are simply the owners of ourselves and of the world. At
last we can do what we please. These words of Pope Benedict XVI clearly highlight
the thinking behind acceptance of abortion, euthanasia, and embryonic stem cell research.
(Pope Benedict XVI, Jesus of Nazareth, 257)
PLEASE REMEMBER TURN YOUR
CELLPHONE OFF WHILE IN CHURCH!
Thank you for you cooperation.
Why
Catholic?
As described in former copies of our bulletin and
will be further explained from the pulpit. This should be a very
fruitful and enjoyable several weeks. Expect a gentle reminder in the form of a letter
from Father Ruane. We
will be signing up next week and at both Masses the 19th and 20th of
September and we hope all of our parishioners will participate.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The R.C.I.A. will resume in the fall.
If you know of anyone interested in the R.C.I.A., or for more information, please call the
Rectory at 662-226-2490 or let Karla know. RCIA is basically a detailed course of
instruction on the Catholic Faith, composed of three parts; 1st Period:
A time of questions and answers from the people interested. 2nd
Period: The teaching and explanation of the main doctrine of the Church Faith. 3rd
Period: Spiritual growth normally taking place during the Holy Season of Lent.
Bible School
Instructions in our Catholic Faith is
one of the more important elements of any Church Family. We are hoping and praying that
all of our children, little ones through 12th grade, through the efforts of
their parents, will participate in our bible school classes each Sunday morning, beginning
at 10:15am for one hour. Registration
will be after Mass this Saturday & Sunday.
ALL
CLASSES BEGIN NEXT SUNDAY MORNING!
Congratulations
to Dan and Rosa Buzzarde who became
the great grandparents of Virginia Elizabeth born September 2, weighing in at
6.9oz.congratulations.

Success and failure. We think of them as opposites, but theyre really not.
Theyre companions the hero and the sidekick.
