WELCOME HOME - We wish to welcome home Father Ruane back from his well deserved vacation. We hope he had a wonderful time visiting with family and friends. Welcome Home

MANY THANKS – Father Ruane and the St. Peter Catholic Church take this opportunity to thank Fr. Camp for providing Sunday services for us while he was away.

KICK-OFF BREAKFAST – Come one come all to St. Peter Parish Hall, our Family Life Center. We are hoping that our Church Family will join us on Sunday morning as we get together to honor our children, as we get together for our regular Sunday morning bible classes so that all of our church family can get together to pray, visit, and chat.

CROSS OF HOPE – The K of C will be selling tickets on Saturday, Sept. 13, and Sunday Sept. 14th for the CROSS OF HOPE. The Cross of Hope was hand made and provide by John and Carol Artman for the Knights, council 10443. The winning ticket for the Cross of Hope will be drawn this Sunday Sept. 14th at the CCD 2008/2009 Kick-off breakfast. All donations will be used to benefit St. Peter Catholic Church.

TEACHERS MEETING – Father would like to meet with all our teachers on Thursday Sept. 18th instead of Sept. 17th so our teachers can come to Mass, at 6:00pm, if at all possible before the meeting. Most church meetings of any importance are usually begun with prayer and there is no prayer more beautiful than the Holy Eucharist.

K of C – The K of C will install their new officers at the Mass on Thursday Sept. 25th at 6:00pm with supper to follow. Please come as a show of support for our Knights of Columbus.

The Joys Of Priesthood…

Who’d want to be a priest?                                              If he talks finance: “ He’s fond of money.”

If the sermon is long: “He sends us to sleep.”                 If he doesn’t: He’s letting the parish run down.”

If it’s short: “He didn’t bother to prepare it.”                  If he takes his time: “He’d wear you out.”

If he raises his voice: “He’s shouting.”                           If he doesn’t: “He never listens.”

If he speaks normally: “You can’t hear him.”                 If he starts Mass on time: “His watch must be fast.”

If he’s away: “He’s always on the road.”                        If he starts a minute late: “He holds everyone up.”

If he’s at home: “He never goes anywhere.”                   If he’s young: “He has no experience.”

If he’s out visiting: “He’s never at home.”                      If he’s old: “He ought to retire.” And if he dies, or is

If he’s in the house: “He never visits the people.”          Changed: “no one could ever replace him!”

Why Catholic?...Next Sunday God willing we will be speaking to you more on Why Catholic? And why each member of our Church Family if at all possible should avail of this wonderful program. A letter from Fr. Ruane, prepared by Gerry Morris, will be passed out after this weekends Masses. We hope also to have registration after the Masses next Sunday.
