Bible School We are asking all our bible school children and parents to remain in church, this Sunday after Mass, for a few words in conjunction with the beginning of our Bible School classes and a special blessing for our Sunday school teachers and children. If any children have been at Church on Saturday night please make every effort to join us after the 9:00 Mass in Church Sunday morning.

Why Catholic?”… We begin our sign-up for our next session of  “Why Catholic?” at the Masses this weekend. Again we emphasize that this session dealing with the Sacraments, the Liturgy and the R.C.I.A. should be rewarding and knowledgeable.

Rite of Christian Initiation of AdultsThe R.C.I.A. will resume in the fall. If you know of anyone interested in the R.C.I.A., or for more information, please call the Rectory at 662-226-2490 or let Karla know. RCIA is basically a detailed course of instruction on the Catholic Faith, composed of three parts; 1st Period: A time of questions and answers from the people interested. 2nd Period: The teaching and explanation of the main doctrine of the Church Faith. 3rd Period: Spiritual growth normally taking place during the Holy Season of Lent.

Quotes:

1. When the archer misses the mark, he turns and looks for the fault within himself. Failure to hit the bull’s eye is never the fault of the target. To improve your aim – improve yourself.  (Gilbert Arland, Writer)

2. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. But make sure you don’t make the same mistake twice.  (Akio Morita)

3. Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.  (Malcolm Forbes 1919-1990 American Publisher)

4. The person who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.  (Chinese proverb)

5. “Being miserable is a habit. Being happy is a habit. The choice is yours”.  (Tom Hopkins, Sales Trainer)

6. I am a big believer in the “mirror test.” All that matters is if you can look in the mirror and honestly tell the person you see there, that you’ve done your best.  (John McKay)

Choose Life When abortion claimed the lives of both her unborn grandchild and her daughter, Mrs. Eileen Smith said she and her husband Tom experienced a ‘baptism of fire’ into the pro-life movement. She vowed that she would tell Laura’s story in the hope that at least one woman would chose life after hearing it…. Since then, she has heard about several… young women who have turned away from abortion after hearing about Laura’s death. .  (NRL News, May, 2008)
